Double lasers from ledge unsafe?

Lately I've been hearing that double lasers from the ledge is never safe, and I wanted to know why. I understand that if your opponent is close to the edge there are better options, but it seems like a decent option if your opponent is further away. Is it just the commentators I've been listening to, or do most people think its unsafe? If so, why?

I'm not sure against who it is unsafe against besides Marth because Marth can CC the second laser and d-tilt to edgeguard and as falco good luck recovering (The pain of us falco mains) and Marth can even run up from a ways away because of his high run speed then CC D-tilt so against Marth it's pretty bad.

I know to get away from doing too much LHDL I've been trying to be more proficient with my ledgedashes because Falco has an amazing ledge dash (14 frames of invincibility I believe) so that's a pretty good option if not over used of course.

I mean, if they're not in range to hit you, nothing's really unsafe. If they're at the ledge, CC to lots of stuff hurts, shield->something OoS between lasers works, etc. Fox might shine you, Marth might dtilt you, Sheik might dsmash you/nair oos, and after all this you could just die at 0.

Thanks for the responses guys. I think its just the commentators I've been listening to. Honestly, I think I'll just keep using double lasers sparingly.

i would say it really does depend on how far they are from you, but most people follow up and go to the ledge immediately, so you either need to be lucky or quick af. As every move in smash it has its place but it shouldn't be used in most situations.
