Double Jump after Shine?

I don't know if you're supposed to do this but..

When I initiate shine combos (shine > dair > shine etc etc), after a shine I use my double jump.

I tried just jumping once after shining but I can never position myself properly.

From vids that I've seen, other falcos don't use their double jump to execute their dair.

I haven't really had any problems but is there any potential hazard to me doing this? (Aside from me somehow screwing up badly and then getting juggled)

Another reason that's dangerous is if you somehow mess up and get knocked off the stage before you hit the ground, you only have your up b to save you.

Actuallyyyy.....yes, double jumping is better depending on the character.
I see bombsoldier do it all the time, and I take after bombsoldier. Bombsoldier vs ken, one of his combos on a fresh marth stock is dair to shine, quickly tap jump twice to JC it and use your 2nd jump, the important part coming up next is to fastfall before initiating the dair, make sure to L-cancel the dair b/c you can't rely on muscle memory as in a shffl dair cause you're coming from a different height.
anyway, after he lands from it he follows up with an uptilt.

k, so here's what happens before I did pillaring the bombsoldier way, I'm fighting, saay a link or anyone else that has a sex kick like his and/or weight. Shine to dair, full hop, dair, or miss the l-cancel after using double jump, an experienced opponent would hit A and get you off of them. really hurts when you are a high percentage and want to just combo without getting knocked off.
or you could full hop to sex kick or bair if you're worried about using up your second jump.

It has its uses, like if you need slightly more height for the dair to connect.

I want to say this as nicely as possible. Your advice is off. First of all, Bombsoldier's skill level in videos you've probably seen of him are very low by the current metagame's standards compared to any other Falco pro. Anyone who still plays and is good will likely DI the shine out of the reach of a dair, especially one where you're waiting until after you've used your double jump. Against a Marth, its more effective to use up tilts after connecting with a dair/nair(nair has higher priority) on a stage like FD where you can't follow opponents as effectively after shines. Second of all, an experienced player will always mix up his response to a missed tech. If the Falco player knows the Marth player will do a get up attack, he could shine, delay his fall, and hit the Marth with a dair and continue the combo. For the most part choices will never ALWAYS be the correct choice.
