Double Fair Question

Okay, so im trying tolearn the double Fair in 1 short hop, and i cant seem to quite get it... asked my bud, he said some people use Z instead of A... Curious on a few things:
1) Do u use X or Y usually?
2) Do u use Z, A, or Cstick for this?
3) Do u use the ball of your thumb, or the joint, on the jump button?

Thanks!

I use x and slide the ball of my thumb to A.

Also, if you want more in depth detail, try using the "search" function in the Marth boards to find previous topics on double fairing :)

I've lost count of how many threads I've seen that have asked about what buttons or which way you should use a certain attack. As I have said multiple times, you should use what you are most comfortable with. Personally, I use Control Stick for all jumps and WDs and C-stick for all aerials but Nair.

I think we should have a sticky for every question that gets asked often. Then you'd have to go to page 3 to get non-stickies. The marth boards would rock because newbies couldn't find their topics.

Or maybe mods could pay a bit more attention and figure out that they really need to make a sticky+rule that there really is no best way to do anything, and to stop making these threads.

Eww, no. Then I couldn't have any fun bashing newbies, or get my post count up by answering the same questions over and over.

I use an alternate SH method (well, alternate to the common one) to SHDF. I use the tip/nail of my thumb and flick it downwards on X instead of flicking my thumb to the side. After a little bit (don't want to do a JC Grab) while holding forward, I press Z, and then I just use the second one with the c-stick.

Now, remember, i never asked what the BEST way was, i just asked HOW you guys tend to do this, and i didnt remember to use the search feature.. i must say, GofG=an ***. Not like it matters much. You didnt have to open the thread, OR respond. im new to marth, and would like to know how people do things. Im sure at one point u wanted to learn/get better with a new char and had questions, eh?

You don't have to censor out "pro", dude. We can handle it. And that should be "a", not "an". Lawlz.

In all seriousness, I was kidding. I wasn't seriously criticizing the thread; It's fine to ask questions. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

i shall smite thee with my double fair power.
Btw, i find Z easiest, since it seems to work with L canceling, Landing into a dash grab..

I use X and C-stick when facing left and X and A when facing right for the first hit, then C-stick for the 2nd hit

2xfairSH took me a while to learn as well, the way i do it is by sliding my thumb quickly from (Y) to (A) wait 3/5 of a second and press (A) again immediately followed by (R).

If I'm moving backwards while 2xfairSHing i do the same thing, but slide from (Y) to the C-Stick. This second method is very effective for me, but i admit it was harder to learn reverse 2xfairSHing while moving to the left because you can't slide so easily to the C-Stick, you have to maneuver your thumb around the C-Stick to the other side.

Mastering both these ways took me about a month to get it down as close as possible to flawless. Afterwards you'll need to learn Fair/UairSHLC (Fair and Uair in one short hop) as it sets up for many new combos. To do this i rotate the joystick upwards as marth is doing the fair (this way he won't double jump). then press (A) again 3/5 of a second after i see the fair animation end.

PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!!! hope i helped

hey dont worry about the "already" thread they always get mad about that but who cares... theyll probably just close it anyways so way all the discussion, ok, with de dfair is pretty easy just with the upper right tip of your thumb hit the bottom tip of the x then slide to the A pretty fast it must look as if you doit the second you leave the floor then when the animation finishes, youll have plenty of time to do the second Fair or even Uair or Bair and still cancell it.. alot of people use the c stick for Di but i think its easier using A,, or even Z, cause Z works the same way as A but just in the air.. hua hua hua, hope i could help ^^u
