My friend just got Dolphin 4.0 set up for 64bit on Windows 8 and a Nintendo Gamecube controller with a GC Controller Adapter for PC USB by May Flash. There is significant input lag making it impossible to use multiple inputs at once and the audio is noticeably off. We're not great at computers though so its possible that the solution could be a simple one.

Make sure you installed the driver for the Mayflash. That made a difference for me.

The audio delay is a bug with the version of Dolphin you are using. It is fixed in newer development versions. It also features dedicated full screen, which is relevant here because it improves input lag

Most versions on this page will be fine for you.
