I really need help on showing images on Smashboards. -_-
Anyhow, this game, in a nutshell, is a Board game/RPG hybrid for the Wii and Playstation 2. In general, the main mission in the game is to achieve the highest net worth at the end of the game to win. You do this by liberating towns controlled by monsters and becoming their governer. But you have to compete with other players who have the same goals.
Even the publishers of the game (which is Atlus btw) commented on this game being a "friendship destroyer" because of the tension this game causes after you bury your friends in the sand to get ahead in the game.
The game's battle system works in a Rock-Paper-Scissors manner, albeit more complex. Attacking opponents can cast magic (you can only have one magic spell at a time), use a regular attack, a more powerful strike attack, or use one of your selected class skills and opponents have an answer for each.
The game does have some luck factors (namely the spinner needed to move), but the game has a lot of depth to the point where you can counter your opponents' strategies with a little forethought. Plus the twelve classes are pretty balanced in their own particular ways (even the overpowered comeback class has its own limitations).
Now, anyone can agree to the fact that the visuals are too cute even for a Wii game. I am not sure if the presentation/graphics will drive away buyers assuming they either own only a Wii which means they don't care too much or they have a PS3/360 for their hardcore needs. But the gameplay more than makes up for its "chibi" look.
This is a game that I think people need to try. It may be hard to rent or buy considering almost no one, including retailers, knows about it, but it suceeds where most crap shovelware on the Wii fails. It provides an excellent party game that almost anyone can enjoy (not including its presentation), even if it has a learning curve.
