Dojo Language Differences

So, yesterday, I was listening to Show Me Your News! when the discussion rolled around to the Shadow Moses Island update and the three codec videos that apparentely were updated with it.
My mouth dropped open when I realised that the US part of the site (and later found it, of course, in the Japanese section) got MORE than the UK & Ireland part. We got no codecs, what so ever.

That may have been discussed, but that's not all.
This morning's updates (WarioWare; Ashley's Theme and Kirby's FS) eventually drove me to look to the Japanese section of the Dojo properly - where I found a new piece of music to accumpany Kirby's FS.

Now, I've checked other updates on the site (not all) and these are the only differences I can find, but... still. I can sort of understand the lack-of Kirby music on other sections because it has Japanese vocals/speech; but why not the CODECS?!

Well that Song on the kirby's is an ad basically for a Japanese DS cooking game...that's why only they have it

I check the german version of the site regularly. There aren't really a lot of differences, not that I've noticed anyway, but we don't get anything german if it's voice related.

Hopefully codec conversations aren't entirely out of the game for german, just not in the preview

Thanks for listening to Show Me Your News!

Yeah, I probably should have mentioned something like that about it being only on the American and Japanese versions of the site. I couldn't tell you why it does that, though, just like it today's topic why there are "6+1" languages, but the only versions of Ashley's theme are English and Japanese.

Thanks for making Show Me Your News.

Wait, is it really true that only the Japanese and English sites are getting voice acting? I feel sorry for all my German, French, Spanish, and Italian friends (as well as, of course, the Chinese, Korean, African, Arab, etc.).

Also, how many languages was Melee available in? Is it just English and Japanese, like on my copy? Or did PAL get a couple other languages (was that perhaps a dumb question)? I guess that if the game isn't going to be available in those languages, there's no reason to have videos in those languages. I guess it's just nice of Sakurai to give the updates in multiple languages so that most of us can read it in their native language.

I'm pretty sure that there will be multiple languages available on the PAL version, but they may not even have started work on those translations yet. Which is one of the reasons we in Europe will have to wait until next year for the game...

The thing about Eruope is...you guys have 4390740582390523 different languages there. Japanese and English are very wide spoken languages, so it kinda goes without saying that these versions of almost all games get the best treatment when it comes to voice work in games.

Euro versions of Smash will probably have a few language options, such as playing in English or Japanese like SSBM did, or just text only without voice perhaps.

@Chuc^: Not nearly as large a number of Chinese speaking people play videos games as Japanese people.
