Does Zamus deconfirm Shiek?

For those who played Zamus in E4All or extensively studied her in videos, I must ask: how similar is Zamus' moveset to Shiek? At first I thought Shiek would be 99% playable, but after seeing how Lucas' similar moveset made Ness' remergence unlikely, I was wondering how close Zamus' moves are to Shiek's

Nintendo won't destroy a unique moveset, hence Ice Climbers are in, almost everyone has a moveset that is very similar to their melee moveset, and Zelda doesn't have a sword and uses dated melee moves (which were bull*#$ed in the 1st place)

BUT seeing how a 2 time vetran Ness is almost out because of Lucas inheriting the gist of his moves, did the same happen to Shiek? Obviously they don't have the same exact movesets because Shiek and Zamus are different characters (as are Ness and Lucas), but similarities might hint to a deconfirmation (such as her B, her chain ,and her bair).

Oh that interview saying that Shiek's model is bieng built for SSBB doesn't hold much weight. She could be an AT, a collectable, ... a sticker (I hope not), or an alt costume for zelda. The alt costume would actually make sense, in that in Oot, Shiek probably fought like Zelda (since she was just Zelda in disguise and we never actually saw Zelda fight as Shiek).

In my opinion, I didn't like shiek since she completely overshadowed Zelda, but no so much so that she should be deleted from the roster... discuss-

EDIT:
No, Zamus is nowhere near similar to Sheik.
Niether is Lucas' A moves to Ness', but similarities are what count here.

Oh ya, need to add that Zelda's TP outfit hurts sheik's chance as bieng a TRANSFORMATION not of bieng a character, but shiek would be outprioritized with Midna if Midna is in since she plays Shiek's role (and Navi's) in a more recent Zelda game.

Funny I forgot when ZSS was in a Zelda game, Sheik had a paralyzer that fired blasts and appeared fighting Ridley in Metroid.[/sarcasm] ZSS is NOT Sheik's replacement, just because they both have whips and are transformations of one character doesn't mean they're similar, cause if ZSS had a separate roster space I'm sure you wouldn't be saying that.

There is really no word as to Sheik's return or departure, while the Twilight Princess precedence in Brawl does affect her chances, no one said that was a reason not to include her, I'm still betting that's reason enough for Midna to appear in Brawl and not Sheik.

I actually believe that the Zelda interview does hold a lot of weight. For one, why would they go and make a whole new design for a character if you were just going to make it a sticker. Would they really go through the long process of making a character design to only put it as a sticker or a trophy? As an AT, a newer form wouldn't be needed either. And as a alt. costume? We don't even know if there are alt. costumes at all! You can't really say that! And by making their own moveset for Sheik in Melee to go and destroy it to make it a copy of Zelda's in Brawl? How likely is that?

Just opinions though.

Those are all clones, Ness and Shiek are original characters. The clones are already under hot water, and will return in Brawl with a brand moveset or not at all. That bieng said... Ness' deconfirmation shows a replacement system (not kill/renew the clones system) in place.

Zelda bieng back woudln't necessarily bring shiek back, since she was a 1 time plot trick in a 10 year old Zelda game, AND would bring continuity problems if she was a transformation. I think the 2 month delay helps Midna's chances, as she might not have been in if there had not been a delay since she was such a recently released character.

Uh, no, just because Lucas has small changes and additions to the A moves it doesn't mean all of his A moves aren't like Ness'. Matter of fact, pretty much most of the screens with Lucas in them clearly show Lucas having Ness' Fair and Bair and multiple other moves.

The simple answer? No, not at all. Even though I hate Sheik, his chances of being Zelda's "better" half are extremely likely. Zero Suit Samus being an item transformation is in no way related to Sheik's chances of being anything similar, 'though I would prefer it.

Yeah I agree ,Sheiks chances are still as good as they ever were. ZS doesn't effect her chances at all.

There are quite a lot of people still in denial about Ness. The best thing to do is let it go and just hope your other character requests make the cut.

The stickers are 2-D portaits. They didn't make a 3-D model for a sticker. Just had to point that out.

A minor similarity in that they both have a whip != They are the same character.

Zelda bieng back woudln't necessarily bring shiek back, since she was a 1 time plot trick in a 10 year old Zelda game, AND would bring continuity problems if she was a transformation.
Yep, gotta watch out for those continuity issues, it's not like we can just have Ness using Paula's PK moves or anything...

No. Smash is non-canon, so this point is moot and holds no relevance.

I think the 2 month delay helps Midna's chances, as she might not have been in if there had not been a delay since she was such a recently released character.
Wait, what? Twilight Princess was released with the Wii launch (November 17th in the Americas if I remember correctly), and Smash was planned to be released December 7th. Are you saying a year and a month is not enough time to add one single character?

Additionally, I'd also like to point to Subspace Emissary. That has a character-heavy storyline with lots of development. I doubt they're using the additional 2 months to add characters as it would mess up the Subspace storyline, or it would seem awkward only a few characters would be left out completely.

Anyway, this whole Zero Suit Samus being like Sheik theory was debunked back in November '06. If you re-watch the Nintendo World video, ZSS clearly does a sharp downward kick, much like the one Sonic has been seen performing. Sheik has no attack remotely like this.

You can also see a good video of Zero Suit Samus in action here. You can see she doesn't play anything at all like Sheik. She even uses the whip for some of her regular attacks, while Sheik has used her chain for only one special. Again, no similarity.

And remember, Zero Suit Samus' Special Moves have been profiled on the Dojo. She uses her whip/gun a lot more then Sheik ever did. It even notes her Down Smash is firing her Paralyzer at the floor. This doesn't match Sheik's move at all, as the only projectile she ever had was the needles.

And lastly, it's spelt Sheik.

Lucas and Ness are from the same franchise so to speak.
Sheik and Zamus are not.

(That being said, I could see Sheik as Zelda's final smash or a temporary transformation like with how you have to switch with Pokemon Trainer. As her own character, no)

Just as Geno's inclusion in brawl has never been confirmed yet
Geno has no right to take up the possible Third-party slot when there are so many other characters that are more deserving. Geno is from a Mario game. Do you want a third-party slot wasted on a series already being represented?

Ack, I'm straying from the point of the topic.

Saying that ZSamus deconfirms Sheik is ridiculous. The two barely have any similarities, and tbh, if she's not in the game, I'm going to be severely pissed.

Please, show me where I said THAT GENO WAS CONFIRMED???????? If not, stop trolling please.

And if that post was comparing Geno's chances of being in Brawl VS Ness's, I'd like to point out that Geno hasn't been confirmed or denied, just as Luigi, Ganondorf, and other characters have not been. Ness, on the other hand has been 100% confirmed from Sakurai that he is not going to be playable in Brawl.

Shiek may possible be linked to Zelda just as Zamus is. A move that will produce the transformation and another smash ball could turn you back to Zelda.

Not really. :ohwell:
Are you f*cking SERIOUS?!

There’s a character named Ness who has appeared in the Smash Bros. series up until now

Please, please, please explain how,by saying that Ness has appeared in 64 and Melee and won't appeared in brawl, how that says that he still might be playable in Brawl?

So if the Dojo said that Geno was in mario RPG, and won't appear in brawl, does that mean he still has a chance? Because it would be the same thing....

Have I suddenly stopped? Doesn't look like it.

And again, you're straying from the point of the topic.

I would take the word of Sakura odfficially deconfirming a character on the official site as more credable evidence vs someone posting a random statement on a forum.

Going by that logic, I can say that there will be 57 3rd party characters, even though there's only supoposed to be a few.

We're still on the topic of characters deconfirming other characters, so it's still partly relevant to the topic title.

But c'mon Ness fans. I didn't care for Ness much, but he WAS part the original 12 and I kinda wanted him to stay, but you seriously can't be in denial that much that you can take Sakurai saying he wont' be in it, as still being a possibility of him being there?
