Does this count as a Wavedash?

So
I was screwing around in Smash 4 with the special mode options and after experimentation my brother and I invented "Dragon Ball Z mode", which is twice as fast with light gravity and the tail. It was super fun flying around and having insane aerial battles for a couple hours but then I got curious, what would happen if I switched it from light gravity to heavy gravity?

The result was high-speed battles with low jump heights but the ability to "float" from the tail made the landing lag disappear and after some short hop fast falling I realized you could WaveDash in a way by frictionlessly short hop fast falling around the stage. I thought it was really interesting, and it increased the speed at which we we're playing even far past the previously mentioned Flying aerial battle dragon ball z mode (which I suggest if you want to have some fun for a while).

I was curious if the above video of megaman could be considered Wavedashing? If so, using these special option could help achieve a Wavedashing and even Airdashing in Sm4sh. In my opinion that would be a lot of fun and could in tern change the game for players who want to have more high speed fast battles.

What do you guys think? would you try this for fun with your friends? is that wavedashing or just short hop fast falling? Let me know what your opinions are on what I am calling "Melee mode" Lol ( All the "Modes" are just joking plays with the games options, although I think it could be taken seriously this is more about having fun and increase the speed you play at with friends)

Wavedashing is jumping and just after to get off the ground doing a directional air dodge in to the ground, since air dodges provide no momentum in this game, no, it is not wavedashing. Yes it could be fun, but this really is just jumping repeatedly.

it really is fun lol, I would suggest either of those two "Modes" to anyone who wants to have a hectic time with sm4sh. I was just really interested though on what defines a wavedash. I know in Sm4sh melee its a directional airdodge with a diagonal direction but I am a fan of a lot of fighting games and in MVC for instance a wavedash is two attacks and a crouch cancel then momentum in a direction to move towards. I couldn't help but feel in a way it is like a wavedash in respect to the wavedashes in other fighting games besides smash melee, either way its fun and I love it lol.

It's interesting, but it's not really wavedashing. It doesn't actually protect you at all or make you slide like the purpose of wavedashing is to do, also I don't know if you travel any faster but I doubt it a bit.

It wouldn't count as a wavedash, but it could sort of replicate it.

This looks like a pretty fun way to play though.

Some dark alleyway.
Could using Pac-Man's Fire Hydrant to push oneself in whatever direction be considered wavedashing? Whatever it's actually called, it's a technique I like to use with Pac-Man.

Inasmuch as you're moving while in a neutral stance, sort of.

But not really.

But it's fun, so there's that!

I can see how its not a wavedash because of the options a wavedash gives you in smash melee, but I think in sma4sh this could be a cool way of speeding up gameplay and effectively make aerials a part of your standing moveset, which I think is the coolest part of the whole thing is being able to land aerial after aerial but also land a standard attack somewhere inbetween.
