Does eating people charge his waft?

See above. Smash 4 introduced the ability for him to charge his waft by eating items that heal him, and since in Ultimate eating people now heals him I can't help but wonder if the same rule applies.

Sidenote: I will never not enjoy the fact that Wario eating people is canon now.
