Nintendo to "Anchor" E for All
E3's legacy lives on.
by Micah Seff

March 29, 2007 - IDG World Expo announced that Nintendo has signed on to be a primary exhibitor at the new Entertainment for All Expo. Dubbed E for All, the autumn E3 surrogate is scheduled for October 18-21. Nintendo is the latest addition to the rapidly growing list of attendees.

E for All differs slightly from E3 because it was designed primarily as a consumer event. The Expo was launched in reaction to strong demand within the gaming community for an opportunity to try out new products before they hit store shelves. The placement of the event in mid-October means that the Expo will kick off the holiday gaming rush, which typically starts at the beginning of November.

"The E for All Expo supports Nintendo's mission to reach as many types of consumers as possible to expand the world of video games to new audiences," says George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing. "Our Wii and Nintendo DS systems are all about gaming for the masses, and the E for All Expo will give consumers a chance to try out the hottest new Nintendo video games."

"Nintendo's early involvement in E for All demonstrates the importance of a broad consumer-focused event for this industry," says Mary Dolaher of IDG World Expo. "E for All has been shaped from the ground up with all gamers in mind, and Nintendo has proven its commitment to embracing the spectrum of gamers, as we've seen with their launch of the Wii. In addition to being our flagship exhibitor, Nintendo of America Executive Vice President of Operations Don James has agreed to serve on our Exhibitor Advisory Board. I couldn't ask for a more universally respected colleague in this new venture."

Unlike E3, this four-day event will offer consumers the opportunity not just to sample the latest games and gadgets, but also purchase them at on-site retail facilities. The Expo will have many different highlights beyond game demos, including tournaments, job fairs, and a performance by Video Games Live.

It's looking more and more like E3 died in vain.

So if your looking for that one glimmer of hope, that one early touch of brawl (october 18-21st) then jump on the ***** wagon and register with me ^_^
