So i made a Thread about me training Ness and when should i stop training Ness. A person said go on a For Glory match and win a match. I won a match and thank him for saying Go on for glory. Then another person said CPU don't help, makes you Much much worst. i said "Is going on For glory ok? I been winning a lot and the players i fight are really skilled" Then he said "For glory is ok. And by ok I mean the bottom of the barrel. Playing local competitive players is almost always better. For glory is better than nothing but is like a step above playing with your friends.Playing against CPUs makes you worse. You pickup and ingrain habits that are bad to use against people"

I don't know if its just him or Most people do say that. What do you guys think? Do you think CPU make you worse? or Does for glory mode help when it comes to skill?

Thanks

The problem with CPUs is that they train detrimental habits. They have repetitive and exploitable behaviour which causes you to develop a play style against them that won't work against actual people.

Also the areas the CPUs are better at then humans actually ties in with the former. They have frame perfect reactions so they powershield and successfully counter an unrealistic number of attacks.

All in all they're really not very good at all, but hey better than nothing I guess. Your friend is right though

CPUs don't make human errors, so honestly I'd just play online instead.

the statement that it is the bottom of the barrel is also true though. I (and most every other smasher on the planet) recommend playing online Via nintendojo ladders to play against good people online w/ broader stage lists and with others locally for the best results.
