Does Charizard's flame effect affect gameplay?

Most skins for Charizard do not have a tail flame. My question is whether or not this affects gameplay, or if the burn effects are just visual?

The flame on the tail is just an aesthetic. However, those skins probably have modified bones and will mess with how the hitboxes are used.

Thanks, that makes sense. (I only use original Charizard while playing seriously, I just needed to know if Charizard was seriously disadvantaged during fun play)
