Does anyone use Up+B from the ground?

I'm curious if this is a viable tactic or not. The throw range for up+B is twice as far, and it doesn't pass over short characters but instead automatically hones in on them. Also, the special does more damage than his directional throws. (not sure about the mashing throw)

Obviously, the punishment for whiffing is high, but it still seems useful, if only for a surprise attack every now and then. What do you guys think?

I have another question about the Dark Dive. Is it good to use when I'm on the ledge and the opponent's on the stage above me? Or are there better strategies for getting back on?

I rarely use the up+b from the ground personally, as for recovery it is really great although I do have some trouble against some characters like Ike's B move when he edgeguards me with it, Ganon's up+b gets owned. =\

I thought that, aside from the uppercut at the end of Up B, it was nerfed. The only time I would use Up B to attack in Melee was Up B out of shield : ) But I was under the impression that the knockback is less in Brawl so you're probably better off sticking to your other attacks. Don't forget that Ganon's Fair hits above him during the start up frames too.

An old habit from Melee--I use up+B out of a shield to attack behind me. I can't say that I've been using it as much in Brawl but it still works, provided you get the turnaround which is easy to screw up.
I don't know if you can up+B out of shield w/o 'tap up jump'

I use it sparingly, only when I'm certain I can hit with it and even then I normally will use an Uair or something. Very situational attack imo.
