Does anyone live near Springfield, Illinois?

Hey, I am looking for people that live near Springfield, Illinois so that me and my friends could have other people besides ourselves to play against. There are only three of us that play the game somewhat well, so if anyone lives near by leave a post. Thx in advance.

This is kind of a nooby post... Springfield is 20-30 minutes away from champain/Urbana. There are a TON of smashers at U o I, along with lots of tournaments. There is even one coming up thiis weekend, the 30th.

Im not sure about smashers in springfield, but you have a huge smash community right by you, the U o I campus.

Springfield is at least an hour from Champaign. It's more than just a trifle of a drive.

I live like 7 miles southeast of Springfield, but I work/go to school in town, send me a PM or whatever if you wanna do some crap this week

Sorry for the reallllllllly long wait before a replay but I wasn't getting on smashboards that much and I didn't see the email that they send when someone posts, if it actually sent one.

Anyway, I was thinking someplace closer, like within 30ish min. but i'll still keep you in mind if we ever decide to hold a tourny or something.

Anyone else reading this, don't be discouraged from posting your area if you are further than 30 min away, as long as you would be willing to travel the distance if we ever decide to hold a tournament or something like one.

anyway, during the school year i live in Charleston, IL... i think it's about 1.5 hours, not too bad if ya wanna come stay some night and smash with me/my friends...

Looking at a map, If someone lives in Decatur, that would be amazing.
like 45 min from springfield
like 80 min from charleston
like 60 min from champaign/urbana
like 80 min from jacksonvile
like 50 min from lincoln
like 60 min from bloomington

Now only if someone that plays ssbm, lives there XD
Also, Oranos where do you live? XD you haven't posted it. o.O

btw, I think springfield illinois should have won the simpsons movie pre-release thing.
I mean we've got EVERYTHING. A nuclear power plant like 30 min away, a dirty lake, a bartender name Moe..... somewhere.
I mean what else do you need?

I wish I could have met you before I moved to Cleveland, BUT
I have a friend lives in Raymond that may be interested. He's never been to a tourney though. If you're interested, let me know and I'll get a hold of him and tell him to sign up on smashboards so he can talk to you, or is Raymond too far?

-and btw, I fully agree that Springfield Illinois is sooo close to the Simpson's Springfield. lol

Nope, Raymond isn't too far, its like 45 minutes according to google maps.
I need to start writing down people. :)

lol, well it's good that you know that cause I thought I was good when I was playing my friend until I actually went to a tournament. OMG dude! lol I sucked.
And I don't think it takes more than even 20 minutes to get to Raymond. I actually just got home minutes before this post and I'll be seeing him tomorrow, so I'll tell him about it and then I'll let you know what's going on...

a.) a biweekly(or at least a consistent basis of play would be GREAT.

b.) I live in Chatham, sorry for forgetting the most important part of posting in this thread :dizzy:

chewyy- I told him about this site but only God knows how long it's gonna take for him to actually take the time to check it out and post something. I'll keep you updated with the info though...
