*remembers the jumping controls*

............probably not. Unless they do an almost complete rehaul like they did with DK and KI.

If they made it a co-op platformer akin to Journey or Way, then I would be all for it!

This would probably be more suited to just being a game akin to the original but like HD updated with the jumping controls and other stuff improved. Man, I would love that. If it had four player online (which I'm sure wouldn't be that hard for a game like this) it'd be fantastic and suited for a wonderful eShop title!

I think, thanks to smash bros, the Ice Climbers are all about team-work, and the two of them, having four players would ruin what they're now known for... That's why I suggest a puzzle-ish platformer like Way (though where you're in the same room) where you have to play with someone else at all times, or else you're unable to complete the puzzles... It'd be difficult though as the only environment you can do is Ice with the occasional snow or rocky mountain... no exactly a lot of variety for a modern game.

Forced co-op with some communication tools on the touch screen would be great for online play too, on either 3DS or Wii U... where-as if you're on the Wii U and in the same room you could have one person on the Gamepad and the other on the TV while talking between the two of you. They may need some new tools though, as with just mallets and rope to go on the puzzles could get a bit samey.

I was thinking that it could be packaged with a balloon fight remake also. It could work like the Air and Land battles in Kid Icarus, but 3D and 2D levels instead.

These series have untapped potential and nintendo is making a serious mistake to not consider a rehual of classic games. Ice Climbers and Balloon Fight are the two main candidates for this. Cluclu Land, Exitebike, Wrecking Crew, and Takamaru are also second, lesser options. Smash has enough influence and popularity to bring games overseas and resurrect old classics, nintendo is going to turn communist if they don't make this decision.

lol They have done plenty of rehashes of classical games. Simply there more successful ones however. I cannot wait until we see a Mario Kart 20.

Yes please, give them the whole Kid Icarus Uprising treatment. Pit's gone from being functionally irrelevant to one of Nintendo's most clearly defined and fleshed out characters, and that was only in one game. I'd love to see the Ice Climbers go that way.
