Does anyone else get "off" days?

I'm just interested to know if anyone else has the same problem as me. Some days on For Glory I can really destroy all opponents set before me with ease, then the next day, it's almost impossible to even get a single win... :/

Does this happen normally? Is Smash so similar to a sport that it does indeed have "off" days? Please tell me what you think :)

Yes, I get them a lot, but today is not one of them. I have been getting heaps of wins with Luigi today, and I'm very happy with ithe way I've been pulling of crazy combos and follow-ups.

When I get off days, it makes me sad. I feel like I'm a scrub, even though I don't think I am when I can play Weegee at my best.

Oh yeah, for sure. Was doing 2v2 FG with a good friend the other day and we're both decent. He was buried in salt the whole time, complaining after every match, and I was tired as hell from getting up really early. We were losing a lot to players we would normally wreck. It's all good though. Off days remind me of when I used to marathon Dark Souls. Sometimes you just can't win. Gotta get some sleep, put on some good beats and regroup.

eSports are sports in every nonathetic sense of the word, so yes. Though it varies person to person, it's quite possible for mood, alertness, attitude, etc to vary day by day, and thus impact your performance.

At the same time, it can also just be that you're playing better players one day than the other.

Its normal to have a "off" day...it's human nature. ..we have to fail a bit in order to learn some thing about our selfs or play style (doesn't apply to all do to "learning curve"..its different to all)...but if ur on ur game
...ur on ur game ya know...i executive when i know im on "fire" that day...push it to ur characters limit(which is limitless in ssb)...mortal of the story. ..if u know ur on point. ...keep it going...plus its all for fun righttttttt???

Lol lucky you! I wish that I was having one of the better days too! :p When I'm on a good day, Falcon feels so epic I can't help laughing!

I certainly agree that I do feel pretty down myself when I get an off day. It makes me feel like I really suck at Smash all of a sudden... it's hard to move on after each match, and that only makes things worse!

Oh definitely. Though granted it could be because I tend to be focused on doing other things rather than practice.

Sometimes you just need to take a break. I find that after coming back from not playing for 2-3 days, I have a much tighter and smoother game.

At fight I thought it was based on ranking, like if you had a 30%+ on for glory, then people with 30+% and 40-% would play with you, but I guess not.

I'd say so. I play against Level 9 CPUs a lot, so when I lose to one I think "You know, I though I was good at this game..."
(Don't you dare tell me to "play online more" because it seems like every other time I play online the connection is slow.)

Sometimes I think that the CPUs begin to learn the same way Amiibos do! When they start taunting, you know things aren't going well... Lol

It happens to the best of us. Of course, sometimes you may feel as if you're having a bad day, but there's always that chance of you just fighting someone who knew what they were doing.

Yep. Some days I'll have a hay day on For Glory raking in win after win. But then all the sudden I lose vs roll spammers all day until I quit and do something else.

oh yeah, I've had off days before... and often times when i start getting salty, my performance begins to devolve because I've run into a problem I can't solve, and those ruin my patience.:ohwell:

now... let's see how long it'll take before a big name provides the "logical standpoint"...:glare:

Not necessarily, I do not have entire "off-days," but I do have "off-matches." From time to time there is a group of matches that I lose and therefore I start a losing streak that lasts longer than usual. So if that is what you are referring to, then yes.

Well, for me....
Off-days are as common as the rain and sun. One day, more losses, one day, more wins. It's on and off just like the name.
Whenever I feel ultimately discouraged and miserable during these days, I'll always tell myself there'll always be some days in FG when the world is against you.

In Smash 4 not really.

But I do in other games like TF2, if I don't eat well for a couple of days and/or don't go out outside regularly to keep my mind fresh my aim goes to ****. Stupid student life u_u

Indeed I do get those off days. My fingers just don't feel exercised enough or feel sloppy, I'll have to move them around sometimes to get them in shape.

I think for the most part I'm pretty consistent, but I definitely do have off days every now and then. Im pretty sure that everyone does :) Off-matches even more so
