I do; I remember like it was yesterday. Back 4 years ago when I was deeply getting into SSBM, there was an arrogant player named Snex dominating the region. He was not only a very competent peach player, but he also had a knack for martial arts; specifically the kind involving punching through solid cement.
Anyway, he did make an effort to help a lot of players; bluntly, but he did help. However, he bashed the majority of the players not only because they were oblivious to true competition, but simply because they didn't know what they were talking about. So began the Snex wars; a rallied partition to drive him off the forums. The battle marched on for some time, but he eventually had enough and left, which pretty much meant victory for the forum. I, unfortunately, was one of them.
And now I see the error of my ways. Snex had a perfect reason to bash those people; he did give them advice. He gave them solid advice, and they were either too stubborn to take it or too stupid to even acknowledge it; they simply threw it in his face. It's true that Snex was a bit on the blunt side, and he didn't get along that well with many of the users, but I can see why; they didn't appreciate that he was trying to help them further their game.
...I know it's old and pointless, but man; now I feel bad for helping get rid of him. He wasn't picking a fight with anyone; he was trying to help everyone, and I threw it in his face. I know it's far too late and you're probably not even on this board anymore, but...i'm sorry for not backing you up.
