Smash Wii U Does a keyboard work on smash 4?

I know that there's a USB port on the Wii U. I have played a lot of emulated smash melee so I have become pretty good on the keyboard and was wondering if you can plug a keyboard and have the keyboard work on smash 4. I don't have a Wii U myself so I can't test that out which is why I'm asking you guys.
