right after attacking works pretty well

just dont do it to much against chars like peach/sheik because of the downsmash.
or other chars who have moves with multiple hits.

thats basically the best advice yet... sooner or later you will find out what attacks characters often use so it will be easier to dodge but yeah... keep practicing thats all I can say
