It's really handy when you get in that annoying match vs. fox on final destination, 1 on 1.

I remember not being able to stand it when I was yoshi. I was like. "WHY CAN YOU NOT REFLECT PROJECTILES?" I use PSI magnet at good times. When a samus charges it up completely, walk near her, and absorb it. Thank them, then beat the **** out of them with a bat.

I love this move for spammers, seeing they're so predictable. No projectile is safe with me around.

What about you?

it's useful in pk dittos to block the pkt recovery. Also i use it when i'm falling to slow fall it screws up people's arial timing and they cant hit you as easily very useful :)

I use it a lot. I fight a Lucario main regularly, and have a downright psychic ability to detect when he's about to release.

Of course, opponents will sometimes use it as bait, so beware.

Some other uses include stalling your fall (as Tehchase said). You'd be surprised how much this can foul up opponents who aim aerials while taking your fall speed into account. It's much more useful than you'd expect.

You can also use PSI Magnet to turn around in mid-air by doing it at a down angle in the opposite direction you're facing. More useful for Lucas, really. I use it to turn around so I can use his tether recovery.

And of course, you can use it in combination with B-sticking for mid-air dodges and movement.

Against a Fox ... I probably wouldn't bother unless he's really spamming the lasers. They do so little damage and are so quick you're likely to get hit before the magnet activates.

Lol, check that out and the other ones. I did that a LOT.

PSI magnet has been buffed all around.

It comes out faster
It has less lag
It sounds cooler (in 64 they cheered every time you healed though :()

We also have magnet cancelling now. That means no PSI magnet lag!

Works great on Pit and Space animals. ESPECIALLY Fox since users often mash B and cant stop when they see Ness' magnet go up and they heal him. Also, since the lasers have no knockback, they allow Ness to put it up easily.:bee:

It even has a cool wind effect now that can be used to push enemies away from Ness (not too useful, but can push people on the ground away from Ness if he is trying to get out) and even pseudo reflect.

Like Aevin said, Ness' Magnet can be used to turn him around in the air effectively. But it is useful for Ness. Someimtes, you jump off the edge to edgeguard and a bair would be more fitting than an fair, but OH NOES! You forgot to RAR! Just flip around with PSIM and bair away.

And if you fast fall, the magnet brings your normal fall speed back. There's ovious potential in this, just nothing big.

I use it alot, but I am trying to figure out how to use it's push back release to my advantage. I started a thread specifically for that property, so we should try and add to that disscusion too.

But the Mag is a really usefull tech other than absorbing. It kills momentum and is a good mind game tech.

The PSI magnet is one of the main reasons why Ness is one of my mains. Healing is personally, quite a bit more important than reflecting attacks at your opponent.
