What's the most common way of playing Smash 64? I can only see benefits with emulators, more controller choices, everything unlocked, etc. What's the most common in tourneys nowadays?

Thank you!

How come tourneys are console exlcusive, seems strange. I would guess it turns many people off, hard to get the game and the console, controllers can be hard to come by and frustrating to use. How come console is standard?

Edit: forgot to use the reply system, is there a way to delete a post and do it again? :p

Real tournaments are exclusively console. They have fake online tournaments every weekend which you should check out on https://advancedbrackets.com
Forgot to use the reply system, please look at the post above, thanks!

Don't listen to the console elite st people. Emulator is great. Barely anybody uses console but at big tournaments you NEED to use console since they arent going to supply with monitors and a pc. Much easier to bring CRT's and an N64.

All these ******* going on about frame delay think that a 1 frame delay is going to change their gameplay signifigantly. I hope that 1/60th of a delay is going to make you miss that Pika up-air, @ Shears Shears .

There is way more issues than the frame delay. Find the thread. I listed a lot of reasons in there.

Saying that 1 frame delay doesn't matter is like saying that playing 1 turn behind in chess doesn't matter

If there was a cheap adapter for the N64 controller I'd probably play more emulator.

If the point of your counterargument is "SSB is faster than chess", it's not a very good counterargument
not at all

i dont want to argue with you fire
you are aggressive when you argue sometimes, studstill mode

but 1 frame dela wont stop you from playing this game incorrectly.

Then maybe you should get better at the game before you say something so ridiculously wrong

Someone being wrong? That is Kahnews to everyone.

In all seriousness, the reason why most smash right now is online is since the scene is so spread out and sparse. The only time you see 64 otherwise is weeklies and POTENTIALLY at majors that include Melee/Smash 4/whatever.

emulator and console are both great ways to play 64. There are online tourneys and console tourneys so whatever floats your boat really. Lots of people play both.

just don't play on the wii/wiiU

Great! Is there a good guide for online play? I'd like to set it up but don't know how to do it. Me and a friend have discussed setting it up so we can play!
