Event - E3 Invitational 2014 Do you expect people to complain a lot after E3?

We will probably see a lot of complaints, yeah. Especially if controversial characters like Mii are revealed, and if the release date is late August for the 3DS. Hopefully the amount of info and footage we get will bring lots of good comments too though.

I'll probably be disappointed myself if the 3DS version really is slated for late August. I mean, who isn't going to be meh about that? We'll all get over it, of course

Not sure if I can say this, but the amount of whining/complaining from people on both this board/GameFAQs will be entertaining. It's just a bit entertaining when people take something good and find ways to moan about it. Oh well, human nature, I guess. :3

I know people will complain, I might even complain if we get something ridiculous like Sakurai saying that the game will only have 40 characters or that the Wii U won't have a special mode.

Honestly, I just think that while we shouldn't get our hopes up, we should be somewhat open to the possibility of an earlier release date. We don't know if the game is done or not, but if it is and they've been polishing it for May and June, there's no reason for it to not be out in July.

Now, if they've just started polishing/whatever now, then yeah, August will probably be the month, sadly.

It depends really on what people are expecting the portion of the Digital Event for Smash to have. And Ridley's fate, whether it's good or bad, will start a s***storm regardless.

Yes.

Miis (and Pacman to an extent) will probably get a bad enough rap, and that's without considering the possibility of another assist trophy massacre AND a Ridley deconfirmation if they show off stage bosses.

There will be complaints if the release date is next week, the characters are perfect, and the invitational goes off without a hitch. It's the nature of this place.

It's basically impossible to please 100% of the community. There's always going to be a character that people want, that others either don't want or don't care for. Gotta keep in mind that as far as newcomers go, people are hoping characters from their wish list get revealed...most people don't have the same wish list, so there'll be disappointment. As far as release dates, kind of the same thing. People will want the game to come out whenever is suited best for them personally. "I'M READY TO PLAY NOW! GAME NEEDS TO COME OUT A WEEK LATER!" "Well you see..I'm in summer school so I'd prefer the game to come out when the semester is over..so yeahhhh".

So disappointment and complaining is a guarantee. Hell, some people are gonna complain just for the sake of complaining.

You can't make everyone happy; while there is something some may like, the others could be disappointed.

Why is this even a question? People have complained about every newcomer so far and even some of the veterans being back. Due to everyone having different preferences, someone isn't going to be pleased no matter what they do (including if they reveal nothing, which would probably have the most complaining).

This will probably the last bit of big new we'll get before the 3DS version comes out. I wouldn't be surprised if Sakurai's Pic of the Day are going to be reruns until the game is out.

I think the most annoying eye-rolling complaints are the people who say 'my favorite character was not included I won't buy the game' well good for you but the 13 million or plus who will buy it are going to have a blast, so remain resentful.
