Take-Up Double Jump: Anytime someone hits you during a double jump, and you forget you used it. This usually results in an SD.

2 of yours for 1 of mine: Applies staunchly to slower characters, like Ike, who have hitlag. Characters like Sheik can fit 2-3 aerial attacks in the time it takes for one Fair to come out. This means that when you see them whiff and try to punish, they've already found the time to hit you again instead.

If I have anymore, I'll post more in this message. Otherwise, add your own. Sometimes, making up terms is the best way to take notes of your enemy's advantages mid-match.

It's not really a new term, but sometimes when me and my closest smash friends play, we shout "RESET!" even if there's an entire stock difference. So if I get the KO on him, while I've got 86% damage, I shout "86% RESET!" jokingly.

It's really not too funny and a bit lame, but it brightens the mood sometimes if it gets too salty.

I also tend to just name impromptu combos even if I am never able to replicate it.

Nintendogs - anytime someone in the room gets up and walks in front of the TV while other people are in the middle of a match.

One-sided Nintendogs - anytime someone Nintendogs but they only happen to walk in front of one (or in FFAs two or three, basically just 'not all') of the players participating due to how everyone was seated.

Obviously named after the Assist Trophy. We also call it Bloopering in Mario Kart :)

  • Dark Throttle: Intentionally choking or taking advantage of the internet connection to make :4ganondorf:'s normally laggy and punishable attacks, even the Warlock Punch, impossible to do anything about. Characterized by a lack of visual stuttering, instead manifesting as a second-or-more-long delay between input and action.
  • Invincibility State: Leading by at least one stock. Doing damage against someone in this state is futile because, unless a kill move is landed (HA! Like that'll happen), the leader will still be ahead no matter how much damage is done.
  • That Damn Laughing Duck: The sound of :4gaw: teabagging. QUA-AH-QUA-AH-QUA-AH...
  • Sealing: Leaving after winning a single match, denying the opponent a chance at revenge.

Torture Chamber: When you grab someone while they're on top of one of ROB's Gyros. Bonus points for pummeling.
HOO HAH 2.0: ROB's D-throw to U-air combo. It functions similarly to Diddy's combo upon which the name is based, except it's better, hence the 2.0. That, and ROB is a robot, so I thought it made sense.

Reverse Spike: ROB's D-throw -> Uair combo. It spikes them into the ground, which sends them up into an Uair, which often results in a vertical screen kill, hence "reverse spike."
I just call moments like these Stage Spikes. Because you still technically bounced them off the stage with a Spike for a kill :)

I don't really make up terms when I play since I usually say things that are already in Smash lingo.

I usually make noises and gibberish words.

My pals and I would say "ace in your face" and exchange a variety of more vulgar taunts in our Melee youth. The former comes from a high school volleyball game where the commentator, in a boom-goes-the-dynamite fashion, kept saying "ace in your face!" after any and all maneuvers. It stuck with us.

One i use alot is "spooked "

Thats when you knock someone off the stage and spam the edge. So when they attempt to comeback to the ledge, they avoid being hit too intently, and instead totally miss the ledge entirely. XD

god i suck at writing

BNF was real on the 3DS version, not so much the Wii-U version. Its cured?
No it's not. BNF is still active and dangerous and affecting millions right now. There has been no certified cure as of yet, but our doctors are hard at work. We can at least treat BNF patients, though.

My friends coined "Starscreaming" when ever in a 3+ player match where some one goes off and hides while everyone else fights. They survive for a along time despite not being the best player, but when they are found they are usally KOed pretty soon after.

Starscreaming comes from the original Transformers movie where
during the fight amungst the Decpticons onboard Astrotrain after Megatron dies Starscream hides out to win the fight. Becoming leader of the Decepticons

Back in undergrad when I played a lot of Brawl hacks, we had a running joke where we said "Lip's Stick always hits". I don't know what was different about it from all the other battering items, but it seemed like no one was ever able to dodge it properly when thrown. That, and there were several occasions where we'd drop it on the edge of a drop-through platform, only to have someone get hit by it when they tried to pick it up from below. There's also "all items are throwing items", but that goes without saying.

Oddly enough, I can't think of a single move I ever nicknamed, aside from "the Dunk" (Doc's f-air), and "the Knee" (but everyone pretty much calls it that anyway). Now if this were Kirby Air Ride we were talking about, that'd be another story altogether.

Whenever someone uses an attack (example Captain Falcon uses his Falcon Kick) and out of nowhere a capsule/bob-bomb spawns and kills said player, me and my friends used to call the item a Kinder Surprise Egg.
