Do Self Faint moves affect Happiness?

Cause my Togepi just used Momento then Explosion within two battles (Metrenome).

I'm thinking about switching pokemon for the kills now..

Why do I keep bumping this?

Yes, if a Pokemon faints during battle, it's happiness should go down which shouldn't matter anyway since there are a gabillion ways to raise it in DPP.

Funny thing is I'm playing the hacked version of Fire Red, ShinyGold version, so is there anything I can do here? Will Togepi leave me or anything?

Oh, you're playing Shiny Gold? Pokemon never just up and leave. Just go to Goldenrod city, go to the haircut in the underground market, walk around for a while, repeat.
