I was casually vsing a level 9 yoshi with my pikachu and noticed that he managed to jump over 2 of my Uairs whilst i was edge guarding him. From what happened:

1. I knocked him off the stage
2. He used his jump to get back
3. I hit him back off mid-air
4. He DI's back towards the stage
5. I Uair
6. He jumps (I assume Up B yet no eggs come out)
7. I land and Uair again
8. He jumps up again...

Am i missing something here? Does yoshi have a Side B cancel that travels vertically?

I tried to reproduce it but lvl 9 yoshi Ai never used double jump when it didn't have one.

Are you sure about that?

Edit: Yoshi gains another double jump when he grabs the ledge, did he grab the ledge?

You get another jump when you get hit... could this be the answer to your question? or do I just sound stupid..?

The AI is inhumanly good at doing footstool jumps.

You need to space yourself to make sure that no part of your body is making contact with them until the hitbox on your uair comes out, as they can actually jump off you during the start-up of slower uairs if your head or leg moves into them during the animation.

Yoshi footstool jumped off you both times.
Footstool doesn't cancel attacks? If he footstooled me, wouldn't my fall trajectory be straight down?

Usually don't get another jump until you touch the ground again. Otherwise it'd be easy to get back on stage.

Wouldn't the footstool cancel my attack? In addition, wouldn't it also make a sound? From what I see I was still in control of my airs.

EDIT: Ok I get it. Didn't actually know that you could footstool without the need for the contact. Seems like you can footstool off a lot of moves even specials (Tested on Little Mac). Thanks!

Oh... because I used my two jumps and when my opponent hit me trying to kill me, I had an extra jump. :/
Landing or grabbing the edge refreshes your second jump. You definitely did one of those. It's very, very unlikely that a bug exists there.
