Do all Ness players suicide a lot with lag?

From what I know/watch, Ness players don't suicide too much. When whenever I'm playing online, even when there isn't much lag, Ness (Minsk, EB360) seems to suicide a lot. Which is probably why I win. So is this just lag, or what?

I'm guessing it's lag, b/c when I play against Ness users, none of them have suicided so far

Well, I SDed a bit in our matches because...

Lag is stupid and screws up PKT recovery
The new FD's shape is unforgiving for ledge moves. I tried ledgehopping into fairs but I kept getting caught under the edge.
And I never knew that th pirate ship spiked you XD

Yeah, I read your post about that and even spiked Annoying through the ocean, but my first death was because I was playing on the left ledge and got bspiked underwater by the ship. First time that ever happened to me though. I never knew about it.

For me, its not so much the lag, but more when the lag lessens or increases while I'm doing it. That's lost me a couple of matches and I have a hard enough time winning when that doesn't happen.

When I was initially getting use to Ness, spiking often lead to a number of SDs. Now, lag is such a kick in the ***, especially inconsistent lag. When you're trying to angle yourself, and the game slows down so your PKT turns sharply and smacks you in the head... not fun.

Killed me consistently, my lag causes the PKT to go straight and "tailwhip" me, otherwise, there's no SD problem...
Ness's second jump is so good, just hope you'll never need PKT2. (and you'll never need it on his counterpick...but that's secondary.)
And NKCell, what are you talking amout? spiking has such less lag than Melee. If you have a problem with Brawl spiking, try Melee.

I don't know.... I prefer Brawl Ness's dair over Melee Ness's. Melee Ness's meteor had so much startup time...

...and you could meteor cancel it. Is meteor canceling Brawl Ness's dair possible? Or is it a spike?

I can't play Ness online at all. The lag kills me more than anything. I can't control PKT at all even under mild lag.

Lag really messes up my recoveries/offensives. SD here, SD there.

Glad i'm not the only one with this problem. I have had to resort to using Bowser primarily on wifi because i keep SDing with Ness(PKT2...i use it too much now that im excited it is more viable). I guess i'm gonna have to alter my online strategy to compensate for lagg, and play further away from the edge(but without my recovery, spiking is going to be a lot harder). Does anyone(besides ademisk) have any reliable advice on how to reduce/eliminate lagg, because i know wifi matches can happen without any at all.

I'm really happy with Ness' new spike, as I used Ness in Melee (though I didn't main him). Mostly, I have trouble timing the spike in WiFi when the game is lagging. Either I drift past my opponent or I kick too early.

I don't have a problem with it. I guess I'm just too good. I rock with Ness under lag. PKT isn't so bad, you just have to know the muscle memory perfectly, because you have to guide the PKT without watching it. I've actually done beautiful recoveries with PKT, on FD, just under that lip, you know where you have to angle it to hit yourself slightly away from the stage so that you don't hit the lip, but you still get in range of the ledge? SOOO hard to do.

nono....
Brawl has less lag THAN melee.
I meant that it's better.
PKT control with no lag is pretty easy. I can sweetspot the ledge pretty easily.

lol anyone find that pk thunder is 10 times harder with on line play? You have to really have a steady thumb with the circle or you usually just eff yourself over.

With enough experience, I think any problems with lag will vanish. I played my friend with horrendous lag and wiped the floor with him. My guess is that, usually when we play, I have slight lag and he has none, so I'm more use to the delays.

My recovery with PKT beneath the lip still needs practice. Usually I overshoot the lip and fall to my death.

I was playing online last night, and the Thunder head took like one full second to react to my input... Usually, it's not as bad as that, but lag is a potential killer.
Luckily, second jumps and edge-grab ranges got better in Brawl.

lag = death. it is as simple as that. at least in my experience, where the lag is horrendous. i am always trying to play my cousins that live in Virginia... not a good idea for those of you looking to try it. XD my pkt muscle memory is perfect. i could sweetspot the ledge of FD from under the ledge blindfolded, but i am telling you... it is IMPOSSIBLE to recover with that much lag... i am forced to use alternate methods of recovery such as relying on the knockback of pk fire to recover. they probably laugh at my feeble attempts to recover... even Lucas with all his glitched recovery methods is impossible to recover with. i think it would be faster if i just drove to virginia and played them...

That's a lie, either you're under lag that won't allow you to play, or you just don't have enough experience recovering under lag. I recover under lag from some extreme situations, you get used to it.

Sometimes, the lag gets as bad as a Pause; you know, it freezes for a few seconds. That's only happened to me once though. So, Hardcorenesser, I understand (unlike Addy =P).

Lag hasn't been that bad recently though. It's amazing, seeing how I live in Hawaii, one of the most physically remote parts of the world >_>

I've almost gotten used to it, but it's still pretty bad. >:

Like OnYourMark said, it's just as bad as pausing every second

Well I'm proud to say that I have been a Ness player since the N64 days (wish I had that controller to play smash) and I'm here to agree with this topic (my first post) that Ness in Lag = many Suicides. I haven't had 1 suicide offline but everytime Online I feel at a disadvantage because suicides are commonplace. Simply just cant control PKT very well and that alone kills you, any good ness player knows that the angle on that PKT means everything.
