The Wii only actually has 512mb of internal flash memory.

There's simply not enough space to hold data for characters or predesigned stages.

The only reason the stage builder works is because the stage is actually 'built' every time you begin a match. Because of the grid-based system, each custom stage can be saved simply by grid-referencing the different stage elements.

A predesigned stage requires much more complex data, as well as all the textures for the stage to be saved to the Wii system memory.

Don't go getting your hopes up, the Wii isn't capable of these things.

Unfortunatly, you are correct. The only thing we could hope to see if an "expansion pak" type SD card they could sell that would have more stuff, but that would NEVER happen

The only way we're going to see more in Brawl is if Nintendo decide to bring out a "Brawl+". Similar to SquareEnix's "International" versions, and Sammy's INCESSANT Guilty Gear X rehashes.

hopefully, people will read this before posting new DLC threads. We seem to be taking one step at a time returning the spam boards back to the brawl boards.

The way to confirm if this is possible, is to look at the folders in a ripped copy of brawl, and see how much space stages and characters take up on average.

But even if it's possible.... I just don't see Nintendo ever providing DLC. In terms of online capabilities, they're really not with the times. ^^;

Someone already did. I think the characters are 12mb - 17mb each or something like that. As far as Nintendo being behind with the times, you're right...but they have definitley been making more of an effort to embrace online capabilities with the Wii. So, who knows what's possible in the near future.
