DK's Final Smash: Music to your Ears?

After the steller week last week was, it seems we’re onto another one. Right off the bat, we’ve gotten DK’s final Smash, ripped right out of Donkey Konga, with the Attack, “Konga Beat.”

Now this attack is rather diferent from the other Final Smashes, as DK’s actually requires buton presses timed with the music he beats out. While doing this, DK becomes invinvable.

What’s the end result? Honestly, I don’t know. After the “song” is finished, he claps his hands together (posibly causing some sort of shockwave effect? Maybe just hurts people if they get hit by his hands?)

It then appears, unless I’m mistaken, that DK grows in size (and power, according to the dojo). Wether this is a timed thing like GigaBowzer, or a more permament thing, like Zamus, there’s no hints.

DK is soooo cool I hope the timed button presses aren’t too hard, I just assumed it was shaking the wii remote if you were using one then if u were using like a gcn u would press a repeatedly.

Looks like it’s more then that, Mic.

This is from my guess:

Take a look at the 2nd image.The music notes seems like it goes around in a clockwise circle. And anyone caught in it while the button is correctly press is…caught in it. I’m guessing if they missed a button, there would be blank space. I’m saying that because look at the reaction shots of Wario and Fox compared to Mario, who seems currently unaffected

Now, take a look at the 3rd and last image. Mario, Fox, and Wario are in the exact same positions. While DK looks slightly slightly bigger, i think the camera just zoomed in on him. Now, my guess is that whoever is in range, and they get hit by the notes, that they’re temporarly frozen for a few seconds. This means that DK can get several free hits off of them.

so…yeah…^^

oh, btw. the flames on his back must mean that the affect is on. and I’m pretty sure it’s temporary. And that your opponents have to be in range in order for it to work (Since it seems like the purple bubble covers all sides around DK.)

See, I took it as you can just hit random buttons to make DK hit the bongos and clap without necessarily having to keep the beat.

“It’s cool to just pound on them, but why not listen to the music that’s playing? Press buttons in time to the beat to really get things hopping.”

See? I think he was just beefing up the description with the music comment and keeping time is just something you can do if you want to.

Maybe mashing has a better effect than following the sequence.

I’unno, I think it’s more along the lines of the Final Smash isn’t set. Where-in you can alter the final outcome of the Final Smash depending on what song if any you play or simply how well you preform the song given.

This would compensate for the move doing so little damage.
Why Donkey Kong seems just a little bigger.
The increased power.
And the random change in size of the left bongo.

I mean all this Final Smash seems to do is catch opponents that are close; seemingly do little damage; and finishes with a clap that has no knock-back.

Of course it does seem that, while Donkey Kong has gone from his clap, to the end of his Final Smash, Mario and the others are still stuck where they were before. Perhaps the after-effect is a sort of petrification?

Now that I think it about it this final smash is kinda dull. It’s worth it just to see DK grow i guess but to me it didn’t look like he grew at all.
btw doesn’t it look like in the 2nd pic that fox is dashing away, it kinda looks like his &gt;B right?

Underdog - I’m not sure about the increased power. It could be possible, with the aura around his shoulder. But yeah, they could be pretty much frozen for a while.

Kinnikuman - I don’t think they would make DK big. If they did, it’d just be a ripp off clone of Bowser’s Final Smash. And I think he was trying to dash away, but couldn’t in time. Remember, Wario got hit first and Fox is just trying to move.

Actually DK’s final smash could do nothing less than entertain me. Look at Mario from the fist pic, is that an air dodge. I don’t know about the whole freezing effect, after all it is just a screen shot. I believe Mario, Wario and Fox were so close in the third pic because that way you could see the effect on players without zooming out away from DK.

I dont think we need to press any buttons at the right time just to preform the final smash right.. I think when you use this you became untouchable, and then DK takes out the bongos and You can start playing what you want.. hit it randomly or trying to play something cool just for fun while the final smash is happening… .. You dont have to do something like donkey konga to do it right i think…. (It would be unfair for DK because other final smashs we’ve seen so far we dont need to do nothing else but to watch other ppl in pain..lol) Someone agree? =| .. maybe not! lol =|

Well we don’t actually know that. Contrary to popular belief, Sakurai has been very vague about the Final smashes in full? Do you commit final smash after grabbing a smash icon, or do you initiate it with a button press. Can players move during final smashes like link’s? If it’s an item then why isn’t the icon in the items list? Are some final smashes weaker than others? How many final smahes will actually be attacks? Does certain characters like zamus have a final smash?

we can try and assume we know these answers, but until the game comes out we can’t be sure. So ravenkikas while I don’t agree with you, that still is a very possible possibility.
