Dk tropical freeze now is scheduled for a February 2014 release. Does this possibly push SmashU to the fall since Nintendo likes to space out their big guns?

Dude, Brawl was already released 5 years ago.... :troll:

In all seriousness, I'm not really expecting Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS to be released around February anyway, and I doubt Tropical Freeze's delay will affect Smash much except for maybe a Diddy Kong (or a potential Donkey Kong newcomer) reveal supposedly being delayed as well...

Smash isn't likely at that point anyways. We'll very likely pass E3 2014 before the game is released, which would be an ideal place to announce the proper release date (and not like the December 3rd flop please.)

I hope there's not a huge gap in release dates. You stupid yanks filled the net with spoilers while we waited nearly an extra year for it's release.

This really.

That's really what I'm more concerned about than the overall delays. So long as we get a worldwide.... or at least close to a world wide release like at least Kid Icarus Uprising I'll be happy. For now, I'll just wait for them to continue on the projects for the two versions and they can silent delay the games if they need to.

I don't think so. But, I am not expecting this game to come out early next year. I am expecting around mid-Summer to late-Winter. However, I am bracing myself for a delay into 2015...

Worldwide releases should be bog standard at this point in time, in my opinion.

It boggles the mind why big games like Brawl didn't have a single worldwide release date. It just makes spoilers and that was the main reason the cutscenes were leaked onto YouTube: spoilers. Also, I'm not touching anything related to X/Y yet...

I'm not saying that it will happen, but I think that it could happen. Sakurai said Brawl was going to be released in 2007 and it got delayed into 2008 since the development team needed more time. (I partially blame Sonic for this) So, I think the same could happen with SSB4. I would like for it to be released early to mid next year, but I don't expect that to happen.

If it is delayed, needs a heck of a lot of cool updates to make us forgive malevolent Sakurai.

Even before the delay of DKC:TF I've had a pretty legitimate gut feeling that Smash4 will get delayed anyway.

I highly doubt Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze has anything to do with pushing Smash 4 back. I don't really see the correlation.
Did you not read the part I said about Nintendo spacing out the releases of their big guns?

Could you guys give approximate months rather than just "fall"? It's not Autumn everywhere at the same time you know....

I don't think Smash would be delayed because of a different game from a different company. I don't see where the notion of "spacing out their big guns" comes from either. I see it more like different development teams like to keep to certain release dates. It's worth looking into with the latest character update predictions.

Sure, Smash seems to be planning its marketing very carefully now, but that's all the more reason to say they aren't as fickle as to change their release date because of one Donkey Kong game.

Maybe. In all honesty i'm all for a Delay, the more time they spend on the game the better. It sucks though since a delay would give Nintendo more time to get more Wii U's and 3DS systems in homes across the world, but at the same time Smash is a big system seller and could potentially drive system sales to be even worse. I think a delay may or may not occur depending on how this holiday turns out IF the deciding factor isn't related to time restrictions.

I read it, it doesn't mean I agree with it. I don't see the relevance in that at all. You might need to give me a dozen examples before I believe that one. Nintendo wants to release A LOT of "big guns" Q4 this year and Q1 next year. So I doubt pushing back Donkey Kong has anything to do with Smash U. I am not expecting any delays this time around.

There is a good reason why they did not give any timeframe for Smash beyond the year 2014.

If Nintendo can do a worldwide Pokemon release, then they can do a worldwide Smash release.
Would be fantastic, considering we Europeans got it nearly half a year later than Japan, which means that we had to watch all these fantastic videos of the game in full motion and see people talk about the metagame and criticize the gameplay before we even had the chance to touch it. This worldwide Pokémon release is fantastic, not having to wait for half a year rocks, though I doubt Nintendo wants to try something like it again considering **** is leaking all over the place right now thanks to game stores in Canada and Italy.
