Disc Read Error or Trashed Disc?

I recently had my Brawl disc buffed at a local video rental store. It took about 5-10 minutes but they finally got all the scratches out and I thought the disc read errors I would periodically get on the CSS and SSS would stop. For whatever reason though, whenever I put in my copy of Brawl the Wii silent freezes after the loading screen, showing only a white screen. Every other game I have works fine, but I don't have any other dual layer discs, so those likely wouldn't have issues yet. Is this a sign my Wii's disc drive is dying or do I just need a new Brawl disc?

Your lens probably broke. The only way to repair it is with special equipment and parts, or send it in to Nintendo (I'm not sure if that is a good idea with the HBC :s).

You might wanna try cleaning your wii disk laser. It sounds like it's about to cark it. There are special kits for cleaning the laser and you should prolly be able to pick one up for about $10 (AUS not sure about US).

You should still be able to load disk of an external hard-drive. A simple google search will show you how to set it up (it's very easy dw). USB loading is faster then regular loading and is also non-disk reliant.

I was thinking about just sending it in to Gophermods (I've already have them repair my PS3 before, I know they're legitimate). I use Riivolution with a 4GB SDHC card, and I currently have no drives big enough to run Brawl off of. I really don't want to have to edit an ISO or use a 512 MB card to patch said ISO. If I can I'll get it fixed. The main reason I thought it might be the game though is the fact the game loads just fine. The strap loader and the loading screen pop up just fine. It's only when I get past that I have problems, which is why I thought it might be the disc. Every DRE I've seen on Youtube for SSBB has shown the disc not even reading, leading me to my current conclusion that it's the disc.
