Smash Rookie
Max "Chappos" Chapman is a Perth based Super Smash Bros. player who's been playing competitive Project M and Melee for merely a year, already flaunting unbelievable results. After some consistent local tournament results, he took his game to the national stage, flying to Melbourne to represent Perth at Shadowloo Showdown V; which featured the best players Australia had to offer, as well as international talent in Lucky and Armada. Specialising in Project M at the time, Chappos caught everyone off guard with some incredible gameplay. This quickly translated into his final placings, taking the top placing for Australia in Singles and reaching the grand final for Doubles where he took Armada and Dreadtech to a historic 10-game series.
As of recent, he has turned his attention to Melee. Over the last six months his primary focus has been to mimic the same results he had in PM into another title. Improving rapidly, Chappos is looking to showcase his multi-game prowess at the next ever-approaching national, Battle Arena Melbourne 7, which will yet again feature international attendance.
Here's what Chappos had to say:
"When I started taking competitive Smash Bros. seriously, my goal from the first day was to be the best in Australia. At SSV last August, I achieved that goal for PM. Now I have my sights similarly set for Melee, and joining the Dire Wolves team will help me achieve that goal. I'm absolutely thrilled to be representing the team, and even more thrilled to be the first sponsored competitive Super Smash Bros. player in Australian history!"
