I'm not sure if this has been discussed already, but Sakurai mentioned that the game might be released at different times for each platform. This is mostly due to complications with the 3DS and certain characters.

Sakurai mentions dual-characters like Ice Climbers. Has anyone seen this interview on another website, or a full version? Does Sakurai elaborate anymore or just leave it at "...characters that incorporate more than one fighter, such as Ice Climbers."?

There was also that ambiguous translation when Sakurai said both platforms will feature the same number/amount of characters. Now I'm curious as to whether each version will have the same cast, the same number of fighters, whether or not IC is returning, and what other dual-characters could we be seeing?

Sakurai did say the complications are arising on the 3DS version, so it could be the handheld that is a bit delayed. But, for some reason I feel like if they ARE going to release the games at separate times, the 3DS version would come first in order to advertise the Wii U version. Or vice-versa, who knows.

I wouldn't mind different releases for each game. Instead of having to spend a lot for two games. It allows me play one version while I wait for the other. Can't play two games at once.

This is very true. Buying both versions at the same time would be a bit pricey. I personally think separate releases is a smart marketing strategy.
