different costumes instead of colors

he im new here so sorry if this was already a thread

differt colors is nice and all, but most of them arent that good
but wouldent be great if you get a complete differnt costume, some examples
samus:
light suit
dark suit

mario:
paper mario
8 bit mario

link:
wind waker link
young link

pikachu:
raichu
pichu

well i want to know if you guys think this is a good idea and if you got some ideas for the other characters

hmmm maybe but link no way i like regular link better to me it doesn't matter so i waould just keep the color b/c of the team battles

I think this would be a cool, if difficult to program idea. It'd be just another level of customization.

Frankly, I'd like to have something like Soul Calibur III, where you can buy costumes bits and pieces and play around with accessories. But I'm afraid that something could go horribly wrong . . .

instead of a battle between green link and red link, you see a fight between oot link and tp link.

why not alternate outfits AND more colors? we need colors for team attack (green, red, blue at least) I for one hope for more unique colorings... Mario needs his fire flower outfit

and why wouldnt link have his different armors from TP....

and his different colors WERE different costumes..

I think it would be cool for every character to be able to be their 2D self and just keep the same moves, but I don't know about the Star Fox characters, or if this would work.

It should be noted that the only characters who have had alternate costumes to date are three of the pokemon (pichu, pika, jiggs).

For Mario, 8 bit and paper wouldnt be nearly as good as costumes that came with slightly altered movesets like Doc or Sunshine. I'm sure someones mentioned this 100 times before.

And ya, I think it would be more interesting to add alternate costumes...

Though the only real reason they added the different colors, was so it was easier to tell the difference between friend and foe (team battle), though that's not how it was really made for in Melee. So ya, I guess a different look would be cool... though it doesn't really matter to me
