Differences Between Both Versions

Earlier this week, Sakurai revealed that trophies are returning and that the Wii U and 3DS will have trophies which are exclusive to each version. We also know that many of the stages will be exclusive to one version or the other. This lead me to thinking about what else can be different in the two versions. One idea that I had was to make there be items that are version exclusive.

What other things can be, or you would like to see, exclusive to the two versions of this game?

Also, for those planning to get the game on 3ds only, how can the wii u version distinguish itself enough to make you consider getting the game on the wii u instead?

That could actually work. Assist trophies too? They should basically fill the 3ds one with handheld game-related items and wii u with console-related items.

Gens 2,4and 6 on console, and gens 1,3 and 5 on handheld?
If they are different, I'd imagine it would a bit different in the way they are put in, Maybe just hand picking which pokemon go in which version.

Ah, that's true. Maybe they'll have no differences other than stages and trophies :(
I'm hoping that's not the case, and for the WiiU's sake, it would be best if it wasn't.

One's on the Wii U, and one's on the 3DS!

On a more serious note, maybe different assist trophies for each version would work pretty well, methinks.

I agree that it would be better if they had differences, but why for the
wii u's sake? It has waaaay more going for it than 3DS

I just don't see the game selling the system very well when there is a similar game on the 3DS. More people already own a 3ds, and I don't see them spending more money just to get it on the wii u. Also, if someone did have to buy a system for this game, I see them more going for a 2DS since it is the cheapest option.

I guess it really depends on the person. As Wild said, there are quite a number of people with a 3DS already, but at the same time, the Wii U has many more releases this year in general (Tropical Freeze, SSB4, Mario Kart 8, possibly the new Zelda) that may cause many different groups of people who like those franchises to cave just for the sake of multiple titles appearing.

I think it would be neat for each version to have exclusives that cater to the console they're being played on. The stages as we know are a given, but whether or not we'll see specialised Assist Trophies is unknown.

Yeah, it makes sense now. Personally, I would base which console to get based on all the games. The wii u has more potential games from more of the big franchises.

I remember Brawl had short demos for most of the cast's games. Maybe certain demos could be exclusive to one console, while some would be exclusive to the other

The demos were pretty underwhelming. It was better to just youtube some gameplay than waste all that loading time on the demo.
