Did I buy a fake GameCube controller?

So I just ordered a GameCube controller for smash wii u. I got it off of amazon, and it is an original one, not the new ones with the smash ball on it. When it came, I saw that it was a Japanese version. Okay. I looked at the box, and to my horror, there was no Nintendo seal of quality to be found! I took the controller out of the box, it seems fine, the buttons all feel great. I haven't been able to test it out yet, because the adapter I ordered has not come yet. Do you think that I ordered a fake controller???

Fake? No. It definitely exists and is real as far as I know.
Third party? Probably, with no seal it is most likely a third party controller. Check under the C stick and Dpad for the normal GC stuff, if it's not there, then it's 3rd party.

Doesn't matter as long as it works.

But if the box or controller says "Compatible With Gamecube" or anything like that, it's probably a third party.
