Did anyone besides me find this indicative of Little Mac's inclusion?

Let's play spot the similarity!

I had this very idea a few months ago. I thought it would be a cool little touch if Little Mac's trademark dizzy punch was complete with a head orbiting punch drunk hallucination custom to every character, and of course, the same hallucinations would apply to shield breaking. Just like in Punch-Out, similar to how Piston Honda sees sushi or Glass Joe sees croissants or DK sees bananas, Mario could see little mushrooms, Fox could see little Arwings, Samus little Metroids, etc.

And here we have it. Dizzy hallucinations confirmed!

As if the boxing stage wasn't a good enough hint. Mac's guaranteed as far as I'm concerned. :D

Still up Peach's dress.
Interesting theory.

I certainly didn't consider it, just thought it was a normal cartoony effect to add when dazed and confused.

I'm not that familiar with Megaman; are stars important to him?

I'm not really sure why stars are there for Mega Man. However, it could also be the early stages of the dizzy mechanic.

Who seriously doubts Mac's inclusion at this point that's rational though?

Some people have theorized that the stars are unique to Mega Man and it's inspired by Street Fighter, which makes loads more sense since both are from Capcom.

Would have helped if it was any other character besides Mega Man in that picture really.

Even then, it might aswell just be a generic cartoony effect. I don't think a character's inclusion will affect visuals on every other character in the game.

No, admittedly the stars don't scream specifically iconic for Megaman. But perhaps not EVERY single character will have a custom dizzy.

But the fact that they added this animation at all is a good sign for Mac, I think.

Edit: Oh yeah. Street Fighter. Good call.

It's true. It's still also possible the unique dizzies are specific to Mac, don't exist (and Mac just has generic stars) or the animations aren't finalized.

So what does Mac have as his? Would give a left nut for it to be floating Doc Louis heads munching a chocolate bar.

I thought Dizzy Punch was Kangaskhan's signature attack

There's absolutely no correlation between characters having a star effect when dizzy and Little Mac being in the game.

A character having stars spinning around his head when dizzy is a common animation trope and has nothing to with Punch-Out!! specifically. Indeed, this sounds like another case of people looking way too much into meaningless things.

Yeah I agree, the dizzy star effect is usually a common trope used in many cartoons (especially the older ones). It's just some neat little effect they added that shows up when a character is dizzy or got their shield shattered. Nothing much to speculate here really.... :T

I believe even the Wind Waker had this star effect going on with Link when he performs the Hurrican Spin for too long or hits Medli against a wall.

This was just a pic showcasing (?) how Marth's Shield Breaker got buffed. However, I do like the idea of having characters see something floating while they are dizzy as it would be a nice nod to Punch Out!!.

The boxing ring is a very strong indication of Mac's inclusion.

The stars that now appear when a character is dizzy, however, means absolutely nothing.

Sounds interesting. Oh! Here's a few others they could have:

Peach would see either little turnips or Toads.

Zelda would see little Triforces.

Link would see little Young Links.

Ness and Lucas would see little Mr Saturns.

Toon Link could see little Pigs or Chickens.

Hmm... And Yoshi could see little Baby Marios. XD

If I can think of any more, I'll post them.
