DI and no after sequence.

i want to know what DI is and how to use it, i would also like to know how people can make attacks repeateadly and not have the sequence after the attack, eg. Links a down from in the air, ive seen people do this repeateadly with no stopping, and the blade just hits the ground when they do it again.
id like to know this cos its been bugging me for ages.
