Hello. Please read this before you can private message me if you ever wished to join with my team online playing the new Smash Bros for both 3DS and Wii U.
I am posting this on 3DS thread because I am planning to buy the 3DS game first before Wii U would come out a few months later. The details shown below will be used for the 3DS game however please refer those details to the Wii U game as I would plan to do just the same with the Wii U game so there won't be any changes between games!
This is how I set up my game. On each match will be a stock game or collecting coin game. There will be no time limit battles and everything on item switch is all up to me. I can only accept one or two team mates at a time. Team colors depend on what character I am using. However now that we are finally able to select any color we want on any team color so I guess team color won't matter anymore but to avoid confusion with our cpu opponent teams we are only limited to playing red and blue teams. Green will always be our enemy team.
As for characters, you can choose up to anyone you like however I may have to give suggestions or at least require which one is best for our team in a certain combo. For example my favorite combination of a team would be Mega Man because he has a good variety of long range attacks and Bowser because he has more power and harder to knock over due to his heavy weight.
However, we are going to be very limited on what stages we will end up playing for our teams. I am trying to select stages with less scrolling and minor hazards. No final destination and no battlefield stages please. I only accept regular stages from games we know and love. :D
Arena Ferox from Fire Emblem.
Boxing Ring from Punch Out.
Animal Crossing Island.
Spirit Train from Zelda.
Melee Jungle Japes.
Balloon Fight.
So here we have it. 6 fun and easy to play stages. These are the only stages I can find with no scrolling and having at least minor hazards. Gerudo Valley and the Living Room from Nintendogs are not scrolling stages but they have very annoying hazards which I hope there should be an hazard switch to turn such unfair features off. They don't really make the game that fun and they're just over doing the challenge way too much!
Balloon Fight would be very useful for coin collecting battles due to no death off both sides of the screen! Jungle Japes may be hard for some beginners, I choose this Melee stage because I have already been used to it but the hazards are still a bit annoying.
As for item switch, I am not really sure on what certain items to turn off for our battles however what annoys me the most since Brawl was the Smash Ball and Assist Trophy. Yes I hated those two items because they're unfair and I still don't understand why even bother with a one hit final smash when you could enjoy the rest of the game by just knocking your opponent off the stage the old fashioned way? Seriously I find the makers had just gone too far with one hit kill things so I need to list down some of the items which will be used and not used for our games.
No Smash Balls
No Assist Trophies.
No Baseball Bats.
No hammers.
No size changing mushrooms.
No warp stars and no Dragoon air ride machine.
Something new I may not want to accept BLUE SHELLS.
The only health recovery items to be drop here are food and the fairy bottle.
No speed down timer clocks.
Now there is something new I do not wish to accept for the very first time in a smash bros game for my vs matches. Due to the Villager's unfair ability to steal bullets and sending back to his shooting opponents NO RAY GUNS, NO SNES SCOPE, NO LAUNCHER, AND NO STAR ROD. However we can still keep the submarine gun and boomerang if we have a battle against the Villager himself.
Also there will be a strong limit with explosions. I love using bombs because they always make the battle funny but now I would like to be play wise and get serious with only the useful bombs for our online match up's.
The only explosive items we can use for our online battles would be gooey bomb, deku nut, and the smart bomb. I am ok with those and the rest will have to go off this includes the most popular motion sensor bomb as well. regular bombs from the Mario games tend to walk around on their own and blow up as well. X bombs which are new would be too dangerous to use so we won't use these. Deku nut plays a similar role to the regular bomb blowing up on it's own but does not walk around which is a lot more safer then a regular bomb.
One more explosive item I haven't mention yet. The blast boxes which I used to love using most of the time on Brawl will be OFF as well. They're just too dangerous for team battles.
I am not sure what was that weird beetle grabbing thing from Zelda Skyward Sword but this cannot be accept for our game because of long reach grabbing is just unfair for our match ups! lol.
I love using items but from now on since this will be my very first time trying out this game. Even though I already have been familiar with Smash Bros. We will have a strong limit with items here. The item switch will be set to LOW due to using pokeballs and I know the game gets tough and annoying with too much Pokémon in the way and you can't kill them so setting the item switch to low could help reduce the major amount of Pokéballs that keeps coming every now and then during a match.
Here are some items that will be used for our game!
As for close range combat weapons, I accept beam sword, Lip's stick and the Cyclops club which fires gusts of wind at enemies. No star rod and no baseball bat here.
Pokeballs are ok with me and they can be very useful however I need to put a limit by having a low item switch setting. Sorry about this, Pokémon fans!!
Green shells and bananas.
Urchin spike ball and pitfall.
Metal box are useful for strong defense and keeping yourself from getting killed with very high %.
Stars will be useful for avoiding enemy attacks and minor stage hazards which will work against the Klap Traps and the platform falling from the Boxing Ring stage!
The only guns kept here are the submarine gun because of it's very handy homing missile style bullets.
Boomerang.
Gust bellows.
I am not sure what the yellow S flag is. According to the games the S flag was used in before this game is that the S flag could give you extra scores after until you lose a life. This item could be accepted for coin collecting battles because coin collecting involved with a time limit and killing your opponent does add up a score for KO's and sudden deaths pretty much like a time limit battle.
Very few bombs are accepted here. Only gooey, deku nut, smart bomb and Olimar's ship are considered to be safe and easy to use for vs team battles!
Finally I would like to accept the fire flower and screw attack. No Franklin badge.
I am done for now but please check back for updates if possible to edit the post or making another one. I still have to explain a bit more details regarding what characters we might be limited to here and there as well as what type of special battles and what modes of play we might end up playing with.
