DerbyCitySmash
Smash Rookie
Hey there guys! Just wanted to let everyone know that Derby City Smash, a new group in the Louisville, KY, is currently organizing weekly tourneys starting THIS Saturday! Our Tournaments are going to be hosted at Wick's Pizza on Baxter Avenue every Saturday at 1pm, and we're calling the series Highland Hijinx! We'd love to see people from this great community out at the event, and let us know if you're from Smashboards when you come to sign up!
To quickly lay out some details: We're using Apex 2015's rules for Singles and Doubles, and we're doing a $5 per-player per-event buy-in, with the prize pools being separate for each event. That means the more people who sign up, the better the payout! Sign-ups are going to be the day of the event, starting at 1pm. We'll close sign-ups when we feel the majority of participants have arrived and registered. Depending on how many people we have for each event, we'll determine the order in which we do them. As this is our first tourney, we're testing out the best way to handle such things, but we do plan to implement a website in the future to be able to pre-register for events.
For now, we're only doing Smash 4, but after we run that game for a while and feel we're comfortable with it, we plan to add other titles, namely Melee and/or Project: M. Until then, we hope everyone will come out and participate in the event(s), and have a wonderful time!
Hope to see you this Saturday!
