Delays. A Thread about Melee and Brawl.

At the second Delay:

ANOTHER DELAY?!?! WHY?!?! THIS SUXXORZ I H8 JOO SAKURAI!!! I'M GONNA SEND SOME MERCENARIES TO KEEL HIM!!!11!1!one!

Dudes, take it easy! The delays have a reason. All of them. I mean if this delays mean Brawl is going to be better, even slightly better graphically I believe we could just wait a bit. After all we've waited a lot for this game and it's supposed to be the game of the Generation.

Melee. HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I SEEN the same excuse. Because of time issues we had to release it like that. Snake out. Lucas didn't replace Ness, Dedede wasn't in. They were all planned to be in there (except Snake, his creator as you might know actually begged Sakurai for his inclusion). And then came the clones:

Sakurai: OMG WE DON'T HAVE TIME! Let's see... One more StarFox representative... Falco!
Employee: What do we do?
Sakurai: Give him Fox's moveset... Wait! Put Pichu in too! With Pikachu's moves! And Ganondorf! QUICK! WE NEED A BIGGER ROSTER!! WE'RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME!!
Employee: But Sakurai-san, why don't we delay it? We could add more characters you know...
Sakurai: Yeah but... What about the fans? They would be angry. Sh*t some of them might even threaten me... Crazy guys out there.
Employee: But... It's only a game sir...
Sakurai: I know but... These crazy gamers... Let's have it done!
Employee: Sir there are still lots of glitches to be polished and...
Sakurai: I DON'T CARE! I'M DOING THIS FOR THE FANS!!

And look what Melee turned out to be. I know GREAT game actually but could've been a lot better. A delay or two wouldn't have hurt this game. They went the other way with Brawl. Trying to polish nearly every aspect of the game and thinking about some awesome de-cloned movesets. I'm sure we'll have some clones, or maybe semi-clones. But Sakurai has now taken his time and has made this game for the fans. I know this came a little too late but. Guys a delay is NOT the end of the world. This game will pwn and YOU know it.

This most recent delay had nothing to do with polishing the game up as it was already finished.

If Mewtwo isn't in than Sakurai will be like... a hypocrite or something

But yeah, I don't get all the Sakurai hate, he's clearly tried his best to make the game, and was determined to get WiFi to work, we even got a stage builder. Mewtwo bought Sakurai a beer once for putting him in Melee. Sakurai knows who his mates are :3

But I still think it's ashame that the game comes out in Europe so late.
But it will be worth it I guess.

The December 3 date seemed like so placeholder that I almost expected a delay, but this recent delay was just a low blow. I don't blame Sakurai, I blame Nintendo of America. It IS their fault.

It's NoAs fault right now, not sakurai's, so get over the hate and fight the true evil that is NoA!! (well after we get our copies of Brawl, we need them alive for now )

Dealing with delays is part of being a fan of Nintendo. Many/most of their big budget games get delayed quite often/for long periods of time.

And I'm kind of sick of hearing people talk about "The game will be so much more fun now!" That just reaks of fanboyism. And I am a Nintendo fanboy myself. The simple fact of it is that Nintendo has an obvious problem either with getting their game's done on time and/or setting release dates prematurely.

In any other entertainment industry (movies, TV) Nintendo would not make it. They rarely deliver their products in the time that they originally promised. That doesn't fly in most other entertainment formats.

i think people wouldnt be as pissed if they hand already given us official release dates

if they would have never said dec3 and just said feb10 in like october or december we woulda been fine about it, and then this delay wouldnt be as bad

but time will tell and less then a week until we know EVERYTHING
