Dedede-cide Tourney Question

According to the rules as I understand it, if a dedede-cide is made when both players have 1 stock left, dedede wins despite what the results screen says.

So who wins if a dedede-cide is attempted and the other player comes out of dedede's mouth right before both character's die? Say dedede and little mac both have one stock left, dededcide is attempted and little mac pops out of dedede's mouth while dedede is off or at the bottom of the screen (too low for either character to recover). I'm assuming dedede loses if he dies first in this situation?

Ya but who ever is on the result screen wins.

ya if the Dedede tries and fails and they're both at 1 stock the other person wins.

This is the reason I don't like the suicide rule. Not sure if the other suicides can be mashed out of or not. I think if you can mash out of it then it should be whatever the win screen says

It's not so much that you can mash out of DDD's inhale (Can you? I'm not sure). He does however automatically spit out the opponent after 5 seconds or so regardless. Sometimes the opponent will pop out right before both characters die, off the bottom of the screen where it isn't visible if the initial inhale happened high enough on the screen. I've had non-tourney matches playing as DDD where the other player pops out when we're both off the bottom of the screen. I could imagine a big argument going on if this happened in a tournament because like I said both players are off screen, you can't actually see the player popping out of the inhale. And of course the results screen will say DDD loses either way so you can't tell from that either.

Just for thread reference, the 2015 Apex rule says:

"SelfDestruct Moves: If a match ends with the successful use of a
character’s selfdestruct move, the player that initiated the self destruct
move wins the match regardless of what the results screen states.
Selfdestruct moves include only Ganondorf’s SideB, King Dedede’s
NeutralB, Wario’s NeutralB, and Kirby’s NeutralB."

But it doesn't define what "successful" means. I'm assuming if the player pops out of DDD's mouth before both die DDD loses. Problem is the only way I know of proving that the player popped out of DDD's mouth before both characters die is if you can hear 2 death explosions separately. But I've had matches where the death sounds are almost simultaneous but I know the opponent popped out right before death. Sometimes I'm not sure if the opponent popped out before death or not. There's probably potential situations with DDD where there's no way of knowing whether the opponent was in DDD's stomach when he died or not.

But who knows, maybe the suicide is deemed "successful" if DDD simply keeps the other player in his mouth long enough to where the opponent can't recover. I don't think that is what the rule is saying but like I said, rule isn't clear. I really just want to get a handle on what the rule says here, it's vague to me.

I agree 100% I think they should use whatever the result screen says except for the ones where you cannot escape (which I think is only ganons).

That way the person who initiated the move (Kirby, DDD, etc). Would have to try and hover or spit them out down low where they can't recover.

I think it would make it have less arguments over wether they were spit out before the initiator died. And this would also make users think twice about using a suicide move which I think would be a good thing.

I play some Dedede, and from what I've seen, the rules usually say that the player who initiated the Kamikaze move wins.
