Death of the Star/Screen KO?

I was watching the gameplay and I noticed there were no Star/Screen KOs at all. Samus doing her USmash on Fox, Little Mac's OHKO, none of them led to a Star/Screen KO action.

So what does this mean for our Star/Screen KO? Is it gone for good or will they add that in at a later point? Personally, I loved them and they added a bit of flair to the game.

Maybe it's not implemented yet because it would be weird to show it when the character voices are not finalized yet. What makes the Star K.O. satisfying is the scream of agony.

I think it will be implemented, but if it gets dropped to make the game run smoother, then I would not miss it.

iirc in Brawl's trailers there were no star/screen K.O.s either?

Oh god I hope they don't cut this Star/Screen KOs out of the game, (unless it's just for the 3DS version, (which is ok), but the Wii U version better have it at least.)

I believe you're right Nday, hopefully they'll add it to the finished game.

It's such a series staple since SSB, and I'll be sad to see it go.

I can't see why they'd get rid of it. Maybe the Star KOs will only be for the Wii U.

In "development" videos they never have the Star KO enabled. I think all trailers of Smash were the same. Once the game is completed its enabled back. I'm guessing time issues when they are showing the game off. I don't know. :)

In Wii U gameplay it wasn't there either. I HIGHLY doubt they'd get rid of it, Star KOs are so much fun. I love the cries characters make, it's amazing. They're so memorable and enjoyable :D

If they do keep the Star KOs (which they obviously are), I'd like to hear how Sonic screams with his new voice (thank god it's Roger Craig Smith and not Jason Griffin, no offense to J. Griff he was a good Sonic he made him a little bit on the annoying side in Brawl (Brawl was the only game where Griff made Sonic annoying), but Roger is far better than him, he almost sounds like how Sonic used to be during the Sonic Adventure series), along with Megaman, assuming that's the only way we hear him scream aside from his 8-bit noises (the veterans such as Mario, Link, Pikachu, Luigi and probably Peach are going to keep their voices from Brawl, as is Fox, Zelda, Sheik, Toon Link and others (assuming we get the other guys from Melee and Brawl back).

You should add "I'm The Best" in your signature to compliment Toad.

Yeah I don't think they'll get rid of it, actually I never really noticed we have yet to see one.

Am I the only wanting an option to turn in off?

Don't get me wrong, I love the star KO screams (especially Cap. "Falcon's kick in the balls" scream, ROFL), but I'm thinking in a way to make the matches faster.

It really doesn't waste that much time in the match, I mean even if every kill is a star KO in a four stock 1v1 match that means 24 seconds was used for the glorious scream. That's the worst case scenario, realistically we have maybe 3-4 per match which is only 9-12 seconds.

I hate Star KOs right before the time runs out during time matches. But other than that, they are really cool. I doubt that they are gone, obviously they didn't implement them as of yet, but we might see some of them during the e3 build.

Nope. I need a character smacking against the screen in 3D.

Why would they get rid of the most 3D advantaged type feature in the first 3D Smash?

Honestly, Star KO's should at least be able to be switched off if they are that bothersome. As for whether or not they are back, I'm pretty sure most of the footage shown so far had them turned off in order to flow the battle more quickly, especially in the trailers.

Ndayday is right; early trailers of Brawl didn't feature the Star KO.

No reason to believe it's gone.

No, it is not okay. Star/Screen K.O should be present on the 3DS version as well.

Well, I'm going to sound like a wimp. I'm not really much of a fan of the Screen KOs. Why? I'm extremely jumpy. Like, I'm startled by even the tiniest thing. Which I hate. There should be an option to toggle these kinds of KOs.

They're back, and the screen KO is hilarious. They smack against it face-first, cartoon style. Zelda in particular made me laugh when it happened.

Kirby's and Greninja's were pretty funny as well.
