The thing about jabs is that they're quick, hard to punish and provide a lot of shield pressure (especially w/ multi-hit jabs). How do you deal with jabs of a certain character? I know everyone has different jabs, so if you know the correct way to DI, or know if a challengers jab is no good let me know and I'll include it in the OP after having compiled the information.

This is because Little Mac right? Yeah it's annoiyng but I just move my circle pad back or in diagonal so the whole thing doesn't hit me, also all the new multiple hits have and end hit so isn't that bad, but also using counter at the right time helps me sometimes. But Yeah it's tricky

I can't remember exactly, but I do think a lot of times if you get caught in an opponent's jab string, you'll get an opportunity to shield, and so long as you hold the shield throughout the rest of the jab sequence you'll be okay, and get an opening to attack at the end. But if you let go of the shield too early you're stuck for the rest of the jabs I think, probably need to confirm though.

Rosalina's jab is hilarous, it literally erases your shield with the help of Luma. Multi hit jabs are super cheese and super annoying :/ LIttle Mac's can do up to 25% it's just such easy cheesy damage.

Usually jabs have little reach. If you try to poke your oponent with tilts at a safe distance then you should be good. If you get caught in a multi hit jab, try to escape it by moving the Circle Pad away from your opponent and jumping.

Edit: Another thing you could do is to predict when the jab sequence is initiated and roll behind your opponent.

Try to tilt-shield, most of the time I just get pushed away

As Falcon, I use jab combo a whole lot. You can get free 20-30% which is a huge deal. You can also setup edge guards after. There have been many times I've gotten away from a jab combo after being hit. I usually hold the shield button and hold towards the ground or away and towards the ground. If you do this early enough it is possible to hit the floor and get right into your shield. With some characters its better to hold up and away since you might escape the final hit. Fox's jab combo seems to be very easy to get out of.

On block sometimes trying to roll away will move your shield and allow the jab to hit an open spot that isn't guarded. Generally I try to quickly move the stick to roll away or behind so the shield doesn't move as much and it registers the roll.

I think it's possible to act during a jab. I've been killed by a Jigglypuff who used Rest in the middle of the Falco's jab combo, Falco can interrupt a jab combo with Reflector, I think it's possible for Marth/Lucina to Counter in the middle of someone's jab, and I have escaped jabs by pulling back and shielding. It's probably a spacing and a couple of frames where you can act by shielding, countering, and escaping.

Yup, that is because with some hits you actually have a small frame to act out, but many characters do not have anything fast enough to get out of. For example you can Rush cancel jab combos if you find an opening (ie: spam). This is a good reason to keep your jab combos shorter than longer.
