I come from playing falcon, marth and fox and I was wondering why his is unforgiving. Any tips on applications for this movement and the general speed on how to do it?

When you play falco you dont really wanna dash dance, you should be wave surfing. Wave surfing is a combination of dashdancing and wavedashing. I tend to wave surf with falcon and marth as well because it is very useful. PPMD uses this tech a lot so i would look up some of his matches and watch how his falco moves. Another thing to increase your speed is wavelanding, this speeds up your movement, combos, and also gives you more options.

Fox, Falcon, and Marth dashdance to move out of the way of hitboxes. They're able to do this because of the speed/distance of their dashdance.

Falco's dashdance is good, but for different reasons. The dashes are too small to reliably move out of the way of attacks, so it's not about that. Falco's dash dance is only good in combination with his lasers, not on its own. Basically, if your opponent knows when you are going to approach after a laser, he will be able to counter you every single time assuming he's good enough. Dash dancing after a laser hits is about making it look like you're about to run in, to make them act early, whether that action is a fair from Marth in an attempt to stuff a potential aerial, or a Fox dash dance avoiding a potential aerial. In the former situation, Marth is now in his fair lag and you're free to punish, and in the latter situation, Fox has now given up a bunch of stage for nothing. These are just examples, and it gets way more complicated with the amount of mixups present, but those are the basics of Falco dash dancing. It's to scare your opponent into doing something stupid while you're lasering, it is NOT for general evasion.

Watch PPMD. His Falco DDs a lot because it's a disguise. I used to main Marth, and I honestly believe every character should be DDing unless they legitimately have a better option. DDing as Falco allows for you to trick your opponent into guessing if you'll approach with a laser, throw in a retreating laser, or just WD in and get something started. Who knows, maybe you're going to try and fool them into not knowing which way to tech when you're in a chasing situation. The mere idea of DDing should be used by basically every character, just not to the same ends. Throw in a lot of WDs as Falco so that your movement looks even crispier. I promise, it pays off. An easy example of PPMDs DDing Falco that comes to mind immediately is at SKTAR 3 vs Mang0 and M2K in Winners Finals and GFs.
