Shapechanger
Smash Apprentice
First and foremost, to those that may think that Dark Samus is only a clone of Samus, oh how wrong you are. If you say this, you have obviously never played Metroid Prime 2. Dark Samus, while sharing a physical resemblence, is almost nothing like Samus.
For one, it levitates. It never walks naturally. That alone is a very defining feature of Dark Samus. Its attacks are very varied - it has some slow yet powerful moves, and some quick, weak ones.
Generally, its moveset would tend to consist of weak, fluid moves, yet it would have powerful, slow startup smashes. No bomb recovery, however, and would use something other than Screw Attack to recover. Grapple is debatable, and it could have it or not in order to balance out her other aspects. Its spot dodge could be it "phasing out".
Considering it's already been, debatably, the primary antagonist of Prime 2, and is definately the primary antagonist of Prime 3, I'd say it has a pretty good chance.
Special Moveset ideas:
Nuetral B - If held, charges up freezing phazon for later firing usage, very similar to Samus's charge shot, but, instead of high damage/knockback, does low damage and freezes them in place for a few seconds. If tapped, fires a spread-fire phazon blast, having quick startup but low damage, would be primarily for combo interuption, mindgames, edge-guarding (see Shiek's needles).
As for others, I'm kinda stumped. There's just so much it could do, but so little of it would not be pretty overpowered for Smash.
