What is the best way to Dair? just with DOWN+A or with the smashstick? or if you don't think it matters, what do you use personaly? I just got an classic controler so i still need to get use to it. but i don't want to get a habbit of doing something wrong!

thanks!

Do you want to fastfall or not? That's how you decide.

down+a = you can either fastfall or not, takes practice to not fastfall

c-stick = built in fastfalling, you'll fastfall if your able to (aka: not during a rise for example, you can't FF while rising)

Yeah, it does take some practice.
But if you jump and dair at the same time, you don't fastfall

ok thanks for the responds! but what do you think is recommend for me? I'm not that good so i just need the simpelest Dair's I hate FF while meteor. cause I need my second jump & upper B to get back. so if I jump twice and FF dair I can't get back. I Dair only in jumps @ the moment so i dont FF. What's the easiest way to perform that? down A or Cstick?

thanks guys!

Is this the situation: you're trying to meteor smash someone when you knock them off the stage by using Dair?"

If so, once your opponent is knocked off the stage, grab on to the ledge. When you think the time is right, move the control stick away from the ledge. This will make Marth let go of the ledge and move away from the stage. Next, use your 2nd jump. As you are rising, use your Dair to try and meteor smash the opponent off the stage. Once the Dair attack is done, ^B back towards the stage. For the part where I said to use Dair as you are rising, it doesn't matter which stick you use because you can't fast fall as you are jumping upwards. Personally when I do this, I use the C-Stick to attack while I use the control stick to guide Marth's attack so I can connect it with the enemy much more easily + return to the stage much more safely, even if I miss. Hope this helped. BTW, I use the Gamecube controller to do this, but I don't think it should be any different from a classic controller when it comes to performing this.

c stick so you can guide with control stick (like atria said) and you shouldn't need a jump AND up+B the get back on the stage. If you just wait till you are below the edge, you'd be amazed how well marth can recover. it's horizontal that screws him over.

Oh yeah! I forgot to mention how exactly you should get back to the stage. As soon as you feel that it is a must to get back to the stage, move horizontally towards the stage as far as you can because his ^B sucks at recovering horizontally. FYI, Marth has good horizontal air speed so this should counteract it a little. If you don't grab the edge, do this: Once you are parallel to edge, (vertically) use the ^B because it has good vertical range and you'll grab the edge. Try to avoid missing the edge grab because if you don't grab it, Marth won't begin to fall again until at least 1 second goes by and you'll be a sitting duck (technically speaking) and may get hit by your opponent's ^B attack or worse edgehogged depending on who you're up against. (Only if you missed with the Dair.) This hard for good Math's to do so practice on that too.
