Pardon my quick question,

When Project M updates, does it then interfere with simple Skin and CSP changes? I don't want to invest too much time into making a pack only to have to start over each update. I can't imagine why it would but I just want to be careful. I am only talking about the different skins and CSPs and not icons, menu changes, etc.

Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Technically with each update we are downloading a plain average vP:Mx.x, so yes you would lose everything. However you can export those important files in bulk from your old build and keep them and replace them in the new update.*

I am actually curious on this too and have an additional comment/question to add(didn't feel right making a new post due to the close relation). I thought the PM team developed 3.0 in such a way that you could add custom files outside of the PM folder and if they were present it would use those instead? I could have terribly misread that though and I can't seem to find it on their website.

If you update through the launcher doesn't it just download and replace the core PM files that need to be updated?

You're right, yet it is to be updated, you can still save your files on your computer/another SD card/Dropbox on the side for the cosmetic features that hardly ever get changed through updates. That way when the update overwrites all your files, you will have a back up.

From experience it isn't too difficult. For the most part the BPs and ABPs transfer really easily from one update to the next. The fighter folder takes some time as you can't overwrite the fitxxx and the fitmotion due to the changes in the update. The common 5 is trickier as you need to transplant any changes you've done to CSPs and the CSS manually. If your dealing with CEP it's pretty easy to import it to the new version. All in all I can make the turn around to a new version is less than 20-30 minutes with testing if that helps (and my pack isn't small).
