Will custom stages be useable in the Homebrew & Riivolution versions in 2.6? Would be a welcomed addition since they were playable in 2.1 but not in 2.5.

PMBR will provide an list of stages changed between 2.5-2.6 so if an stage is on the list it'll need to be updated. For imports they'll still work as long as there's an rel file to go with it.

We ran into issues with people who had used Stack Smash to mod their wii having freezes when we allowed custom stages to be used in 2.1 and decided it wasn't really worth the effort. Custom Stages suck anyway.

Hime, I think the OP is talking about the stage builder, not custom imports/textures.

I wonder if the PMBR could edit the stage builder to be... better?
there are codes for a limitless stage builder as well as a computer program you can use (you can put any block/part over top of each other with both). The fact of the matter is that the platform heights and boundary sizes available are awful, and stacking parts over top of each other can produce weird effects, so a balanced competitive stage is just awkward and stale, and adding any unique twist like falling blocks that reveal spike pits doesn't really work.

Thats a really poor reason to remove a popular ability.

It can be compared to "Kirby sucks, dont include him".
As has been explained countless times, the stage builder was removed because it does not work and can crash the game due to incompatibility with the Smash Stack method of booting the game (which is kind of important for, you know, actually playing the game). Stop asking for them to bring it back.

And Kirby sucks, please bring him back.
