What I appreciate about custom stages in Smash Bros. Wii U is that when I want to download a user-created stage, I can easily go to their Miiverse profile, find their post in the stage sharing community, and click a "start" button that takes me to the game and automatically downloads the stage of my choosing.
There is one major problem, however. If I want to download, say, a stage from a Japanese player, I go to their profile, I see a stage I like, I click the post, and... What? No "start" button? That can't be right. Let me check the Japanese stage sharing community... Okay, I'm clicking on several different posts, and... I'm not seeing a single start button...
So, what I have concluded from this experience is that you cannot grab stages that were made in a version of the game that you do not own. Meaning, because I have the North American version of the game, I can grab stages from NA players; however, I cannot grab stages from Japanese players. This is due to the "start" button launching your copy of the game from your console. I don't have a Japanese copy, so it can't launch the Japanese copy of the game; therefore, no Japanese button is available to me.
This is very aggravating, as there are several stages that I want to download from other regions, but because the online share menu only lets you view up to 100 stages at a time, and new content is uploaded at such a rapid pace, it is impossible to find what you're looking for without getting lucky. This could be solved by allowing you to view a specific player's submitted content without having to go through Miiverse. Despite my appreciation for the feature, going through Miiverse and clicking on a button that starts your game is a slow and arduous process because if you already have your game running, it forces you to restart, so you have to wait for the game to start again, then your stage is downloaded, and if you want more, you have to go back and repeat the process. Viewing a player's submissions in the game would allow you to download as much as you want at one time on the same screen with no transitions.
So, what is your take on this? I strongly believe this is an issue that should be "fixed."
