custom stages freeze in stage expansion 2.0

I've installed phantom wing's file patch code 3.5.1, phantom wing's stage expansion code 2.0, and eternal yoshi's maxed out CSS. 37 extra stages have been added successfully. I used the Stage Expansion 2.0 tutorial for all of this.

Now I am trying to add the Blue Moon Battleship V2 stage (http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=4029) to the stage select screen.

I have successfully added all the images to the stage select screen, but when I try and play it in brawl the stage never loads. Here are the steps I took in adding it onto the SD card.

1. In the download the files were called st_pirates.rel, and STGPIRATES.pac So this stage was obviously supposed to be placed over the pirate ship level.
2. I rename STGPRATES.PAC to STGCUSTOM01.PAC, and place it in my /melee folder on the SD card.
3. I then take the "st_custom for Pirate Ship.rel" from the provided list of rel files that came with the Stage Epansion 2.0 tutorial, and rename it to st_custom01.rel, the place it in the /module folder.

when I try and select the stage, the game freezes (with the crazy beeping noise.)

what do?

(I've been able to add stages over other stages, but not over the new slots you get from stage expansion)

I'm not an expert on .rel files, but if I'm not mistake here (which I may very well be), this stage was not made for the "st_custom for Pirate Ship.rel", hence the reason it came with it's own .rel. .rel files are funny about what slots they are put on, and this stage coming with it's own is really weird, and probably means it has been modified in some way. You could try to rename the st_pirates.rel that came with your stage to st_custom01.rel, or perhaps contact the stage creators and ask what exactly they did to the .rel that came with that stage.

Or you could just replace Pirate Ship with the .pac and .rel from the download, then put a normal STGPIRATES.pac in as STGCUSTOM01. Essentially, you could make the normal Pirate Ship into one of the custom stages using the .rel that came with the SE2.0 Tutorial, and just replace the actual Pirate Ship with the Blue Moon Battleship.
